Chilling 'Scream' Ghost Photo Emerges at Teen’s Fatal Crash Scene—Could This Be Proof of the Afterlife?

So, imagine cruising to a Prince concert back in ’84, fog thick enough to sip, when—bam!—your car careens into a tree, and moments later, the local cop snaps a photo that supposedly captures a ghost screaming from beyond. Yeah, that’s the story of John Boulware, a 16-year-old Minnesota teen whose tragic crash left behind not just wreckage but a mysterious image that’s got psychics proclaiming it as proof of the afterlife. Was it a soul in pure agony caught on film, or just a wild trick of light playing with our minds? Either way, it’s a haunting snapshot that makes you wonder: what if the camera really did catch the moment between life’s last breath and whatever’s next? Dive into this eerie tale and decide for yourself. LEARN MORE.

A ‘ghost that screamed’ in a photo is ‘proof of the afterlife’, apparently.

The notorious snap was taken moments after 16-year-old John Boulware was killed in a car crash.

The Minnesota high schooler was driving to a Prince concert with his three friends who survived the incident on 27 December, 1984.

They were driving along in St Paul when the driver lost control of the car in the foggy weather, sending it off the road and right into a tree at an estimated 40 mph.

John broke his neck which caused hemorrhaging, sadly resulting in his death.

Photos were taken by police at the scene and when they were eventually developed and analysed a few days later, it was found there were ‘anomalies’ that couldn’t be explained.

And this soon led to one of the pictures being billed as the ‘Screaming Soul’ image with a psychic saying it validates the afterlife.

So, Officer Brown Coyle was responsible for taking the photos on a 35 mm camera, capturing different views of the high schooler, the car and the damage.

During an episode of Casefiles Unknown, he described the famed image: “On the side picture of the vehicle, facing the driver’s door, above the vehicle, about even with where the front seat passenger would be sitting, there was a clear image of a face.

“It appeared to be in agony … a scream. It had distinctive hair and a distinct profile.”

To the left of the image, there does appear to be what looks like a slightly distorted image of a face but as many will know, weird kind of lines and glares can easily occur when there are lights in film photos.

However, Coyle adds: “They could explain some of the small things that are in each picture, but each of them told me they can’t explain all of the things that are going on in one picture.

“There’s no explanation in my mind. And the experts haven’t been able to give me an explanation either.”

Celebrity psychic Matt Fraser told the Daily Mail: “I’ve seen many images over the years that capture spiritual phenomena, but this one is truly profound.”

He says that what is being seen in the ‘Ghost that Screamed’ is a ‘rare and powerful moment caught between life and the afterlife’.

“This photo was taken just moments after a tragic accident, and what stands out immediately is the ghostly face, what looks like a man screaming, rising above the wreckage. When I see this, I see the soul in transition,” Fraser added.

He also said it appears to be ‘screaming’ as it may have not fully ‘realised’ he had died.

“There’s often confusion, shock or even a replaying of their final moments,” he said.

However, like we say, many people have said it’s just a photo of a tragic accident with a trick of the light.
