There are a number of iconic online videos that have made millions chuckle over the years, and even stand out as moments that can never be recreated.

One of these is the man, the myth, the legend, known as ‘rave gurner’ guy.

He was the subject of a promotional video for a Preston night club called Rumes bar back in 2014, with the clip going viral for all the wrong reasons.

Well, not in the eyes of Shaun Jackson though, who was just 40 at the time of the video, and could be seen across social media platforms busting out some crazy moves while gurning like there’s no tomorrow.

You’ve almost definitely seen the video, and Jackson has not shied away from the limelight at all, even revealing what drugs he took that night to get to that level of, err, happiness.

But while most of us would have our heads in our hands with the feeling of embarrassment flowing through us the day after that video, Jackson didn’t really mind, and even had a joke about it with his boss.

In fact, he had admitted that his only regret was that nobody was filming later in the night, when he claimed that things ‘got wilder’ than what people saw in the video.

We can only imagine what that would have looked like.

While he was just 40 at the time, Jackson garnered a level of online fame, with the Chorley-native being known as the star of the ‘Bounce by the Ounce’ video with a hard soundtrack playing in the back.

The Brit’s antics helped the video reach millions of views, as Jackson became an icon in the raving world.

In 2022, he was even spotted at the Glastonbury Music Festival, and had an action figure made of him – as you do.

When speaking to his boss, Danny, the following Monday, he recalled him saying, ‘Oh my God, you had a good night Saturday night didn’t you?’

He added that he can ‘do what he likes on the weekend’, in a 2019 episode of the Flexxed podcast.

He didn’t even plan on going out on that evening in 2014, insisting that his mates asked him to attend the Bounce by the Ounce night, explaining to the hosts: “So I’ve gone out from there that night, three quarters of a bottle of Vodka already down my neck and then three or four drags of real good MD (MDMA).”

“The rest is history,” he claimed, to laughter from those on the podcast.

While he admitted that he saw the camera, he added: “When I go out anyway if there is a camera there or not, I am always doing a bit of mad stuff just to get people laughing.”

His fame went beyond the club scene though, having told BuzzFeed in the past that ‘everyone started clapping and cheering’ while he was on a shopping trip.
