For the true crime lovers among us, what could be more exciting than a murder mystery at sea?

Virgin Voyages has launched a new cruise specifically for people who love true crime, and it’s a dream combo for any amateur sleuths.

The cruise line has teamed up with iHeartPodcasts production company for the True Crime Voyage, which is set to sail through the Caribbean for five nights.

Just in time for Halloween, the voyage aboard Valiant Lady will depart from Miami on October 10, promising to deliver ‘a haunting experience on the high seas.’

There will be plenty to see, as the cruise docks on beautiful Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, before heading to the Virgin private island in the Bahamas, where passengers will visit the iconic Bimini Beach Club.

However, while the ship sets sail between destinations, guests will be treated to live recordings of some of the most popular true crime podcasts, as well as getting to meet the hosts.

The True Crime Voyage will also host workshops for anyone who fancies their hand at becoming a podcaster.

Senior vice president of fleet experiences at Virgin Voyages, Nicola Huang said: “We’re always looking for ways to craft experiences as bold and original as our sailors.

“This True Crime Voyage is a perfect expression of that, blending the intrigue of incredible storytelling with the indulgence of elevated travel. We’re taking everything our guests already love about Virgin Voyages and adding a twist for the Halloween season. It’s going to be mysterious, glamorous and like nothing else at sea.”

Meanwhile, Kate Winkler, who co-hosts historical true crime podcast Buried Bones, has shared her excitement about bringing her podcast to a live audience in the high seas.

“We’re beyond excited to bring our investigations to the high seas as there’s something deliciously twisted about discussing cold cases while sipping cocktails under the Caribbean sun,” she said.

“Our fans are going to experience true crime storytelling like never before, and honestly, what better setting for mystery than the middle of the ocean?”

For anyone looking to combine their passion for true crime with their love of true crime, cabins start from £1,265 for two people sharing and go up to around £13,000 if you fancy living a life of pure luxury in the ‘Massive Suite’ while aboard the Valiant Lady.

Who knows, you might just solve a crime while you’re out there.
