“You Won’t Believe the Incredible Transformation of This Vintage School Bus—Prepare to Be Amazed!”
Ever looked at an old school bus and thought, “What the heck can I do with *that*?” Most folks would wave it off as a rusty piece of metal, but not this adventurous pair! Picture this: they snatched up a 1995 International Flat Nose Genesis school bus for just three grand—yeah, you heard me right! They had a dream to transform it into a mobile hub for their band and ministry. Sounds about as exciting as watching paint dry, right? But hold onto your hats, because this bus journey turned into something straight outta a design magazine.
They drove a grueling eight hours—both ways!—to haul that beauty home. I mean, just think of all the fast food stops! But let me tell ya, that baby was worth every smelly road trip minute. Once they got it, they rolled up their sleeves and went to work like it was a DIY episode on steroids! They had to wrestle with the bus’s interior, ripping out old seats and plywood as if they were auditioning for “Extreme Makeover: Bus Edition.” And once they painted it? *Oh boy*, it was like seeing a caterpillar transform into a butterfly!
So, hang tight as we dive into the wild metamorphosis of a mere school bus into a luxurious RV that puts most apartments to shame! Here’s a little taster of the grand journey while we explore how they turned a cramped school bus into the “Good News Bus.” Who knows? You might just feel inspired to tackle that old van parked in your driveway!
It all started when they bought a 1995 International Flat Nose Genesis school bus for $3,000. They hoped to convert the school bus into a bus they could use for their band and ministry traveling. It sounds boring, but I never realized a school bus could end up looking this good.
They drove 8 hours both ways to pick her up, but this bus was worth it.
The first step was getting rid of the seats, which was a long and painful process.
They also removed the plywood that was on the inside of the bus and also some of the windows, adding insulation and walls in their place.
After gutting the bus, it was time to give this baby a paint job.
It took a lot of prep and body work to get the bus into shape for painting.
But the result was beautiful.
Then, the construction on the inside began.
They added frames for rooms.
And also the framing for the dinette, kitchen and cabinets.
They decided to add indoor/outdoor carpet to the floor.
Instead of ugly metal being displayed in the front, some empty areas were covered up with wood.
Stone tile was chosen for the countertops.
Along with brand new, stainless appliances.
There were lots of wiring and plumbing to be added.
Once the wood staining was finished, the RV/bus truly started to come together.
It was a thing of beauty.
The luxury kitchen looks better than the one in my apartment.
The finished interior was gorgeous.
And it was full of little details that truly made it unique.
Even the stairs leading into this luxury RV were awesome.
The beautiful dinette area.
The master bedroom, located in the back of the bus.
The finished luxury RV.
The bus was completely converted into a luxury RV, complete with a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and dining area. It sleeps up to 8 people. The table makes into a bed for 2 and there is the bunk room that sleeps 4 along with the master that sleeps 2.They renamed it the “Good News Bus” and it makes other RVs seem downright boring. Just think of all of the awesome trips you could take on this thing.Source: goodnewsbus.comClick below to share the awesome refurbished bus with others.
