“Can You Crack This Mind-Bending Riddle That Leaves Even Geniuses Guessing?”

"Can You Crack This Mind-Bending Riddle That Leaves Even Geniuses Guessing?"

There’s a new brainteaser making the rounds, and it’s got some folks scratching their heads in bewilderment. Picture this: a challenge so maddeningly clever that only the sharpest minds—ideally those who could have made it onto Einstein’s guest list—will be able to crack it in just nine seconds! Yes, you read that right. The task at hand is to uncover the hidden pattern among five numbers to deduce what the sixth number is, which is intriguingly nestled in a wedge marked by a question mark. It’s enough to make anyone wonder—do we secretly wish to flex our intellect like a workout for the mind? Dive in and see if you can outsmart the average IQ with this numerical riddle. Trust me, it’s about to get a whole lot trickier! LEARN MORE.

There’s a new brainteaser out there for all you boffins, and apparently, only the world’s smartest people will be able to solve it in nine seconds.

It’s all to do with noticing the pattern of five numbers to determine what the sixth number may be. Patterns and numbers – no shock there.

The image in question features six triangular wedges, five of which have numbers in them, ordered clockwise, with the final wedge with a question mark in it.

So if you’re right with what number goes at the end, presumably you’re a certified genius.

Calling all intelligent beings in the world to have a crack at this then, keep your mind sharp because once the nine seconds pass, you’re just a regular Joe.

The creator claims that only those with an IQ of 135 or higher will figure it out, with the majority of the world’s population having an IQ between 85-115, for reference.

Before you see this, remember, focus on the numbers and figure out a pattern as quick as you can.

Without further ado, take a gander:

Did you get it? Are you the next Albert Einstein or Robert Oppenheimer?

No worries if not, here’s the explanation – ordered clockwise, the five numbers shown are four, seven, 13, 25 and 49, with a question mark over the final wedge.

The pattern here, working clockwise, is to do with the difference between one number and the next.

Starting with four and seven, the difference here is three, and the difference between each number doubles, as it goes from seven to 13, a difference of six, then 13 to 25, a difference of 12.

This goes on to a difference of 24 between 25 and 49, before finally working out that the final number is 97, having a difference of 48 from the previous number.

This isn’t the only way to work the formula out though, as the algebraic way to work out the pattern is to multiply the number in the wedge by two and subtract one to get the next figure.

For all the maths fans out there, it’d look something like 2n-1=x. (Yes, that’s the first algebra-related thing I’ve written down since school.)

Brainteasers are said to be good exercise for both sides of your brain, even if it’s just for about 25 minutes a day, according to a study by the University of Michigan.

Apparently, this can increase your IQ in the long-run.

If you like brainteasers, why not have at another quick, short IQ test here?
