Liam Neeson turned 72 this year and… wait? Liam Neeson is 72? He’s looking good for his age.
If you’re wondering why that is, the man himself puts his youthful appearance after more than seven decades on this planet down to a good exercise routine.
More specifically, he’s been power walking for a good few years and credits that with being able to maintain his vigour and vitality.
Anyway, the iconic actor has been in some absolutely amazing movies over the years and occasionally dipped his toes into the world of TV as well, such as when he made a guest appearance in Derry Girls.
However, the curtain falls on every performance and indeed every career, some actors will keep going for the rest of their lives, while others hang up the glitz and glamour of show business to enjoy their golden years.

So what is Neeson going to do about all of this?
In an interview with PEOPLE, he was talking about his upcoming movie Absolution, where he plays an aging gangster suffering from injuries but determined to get some revenge on people who wronged him.
Neeson is no stranger to action movies but it was really the success of Taken in 2008 that kicked off a string of tough guy roles.
The Taken sequels, Unknown, The Grey, Non-Stop, Run All Night, The Commuter and many more had him as the dad who could beat up your dad.
Still, you can’t be an action hero forever and Neeson said that after doing Absolution he was thinking of the time when he would no longer be an action star.
He said: “I’m 72 – it has to stop at some stage. You can’t fool audiences.”

Neeson does partake in his own fight scenes, but told the publication that stunt performer Mark Vanselow handles the more challenging aspects.
While that may be the case, he doesn’t want to be biting off more than he can chew to the point that he can’t participate.
“I don’t want Mark to be fighting my fight scenes for me,” he said, and suggested he might retire from being an action star at some point in the near future.
“Maybe the end of next year. I think that’s it.”
That doesn’t mean he’s calling time on his entire acting career, just that by the end of 2025 he’ll be 73 and perhaps looking to be focusing on other roles.
Here’s hoping there’s lots more of Liam Neeson on our screens for years to come, even if he’s no longer having to have a dramatic fight at any point.
