Well, now, a teacher has shared a list of all the names that he claims made him ‘lose all respect’ for the parents who chose them.

We all have those people who pop into our minds when we discuss unusual names, with responses ranging from ‘oh really! I’ve never heard that before’, to ‘surely not? Are you joking?’

Well, one person was so curious to hear about some of the most unusual names out there that they took to the question site Quora to ask people to share their best examples.

On the site, they asked: “What baby name immediately makes you lose all respect for the parents and why?”

The responses soon came pouring in, with people recalling certain people they’d worked with, or friends they’d made throughout the years.

However, it was one Quora user who works as a teacher who came armed with a whole array of less-common names, and he wasn’t afraid to drop them.

His response originally came from another similar question asked on Quora, which read: “What baby name makes you want to punch the parents in the face?”

He then re-shared the response to the new question, writing: “As a teacher, I regularly see names that make me cringe, though not necessarily ready to commit violence.”

Check out the list below:

Bo-peep

Yep, the teacher got off to a good start as he recalled teaching a student with a name straight out of a nursery rhyme – or inspired by Toy Story, whichever you’re more familiar with.

It’s unclear whether the teacher referred to her by her full name, or simply by ‘Bo’, but it clearly stuck with him.

Bambi

Fans of Tommy Fury, brother of boxer Tyson Fury, might be aware that he has a daughter named Bambi, but he wasn’t the first parent to be inspired by the little deer.

According to the teacher, this Bambi was the younger sister of Bo-peep, so at least the sisters were in it together.

Rice Aroni

No, this hasn’t turned into a shopping list. The teacher genuinely claimed to have had a student who had the first name Rice, and middle name Aroni, ‘like the side dish known as the San Francisco treat’, he wrote.

I think it’s safe to say Rice’s parents were big foodies.

Summer

This one might not seem too unusual at first, but the teacher explained: “Another young lady was Summer, which sounded great — until I saw her middle name was Eve. Yep, like the disposable feminine hygiene products.”

Marriott

If your brain went straight to the hotel, you’re on the right track.

The teacher explained: “[She was] born 9 months to the day after her parents’ wedding because ‘that’s where she was made’ (a direct quote from her dad.)”

We can only guess that each of these names was genuinely given with love – let’s just hope the children see it the same way!
