“Airplane Drama Unfolds: Did One Passenger Cross the Line by Sitting Between a Lovey-Dovey Couple?”

A massive debate has started online about travelling with your partner after a plane passenger shared her experience onboard.
The short viral clip was posted on TikTok last month, and has since garnered over 3.1 million views as well as hundreds of opinionated comments.
Sydney Miller is the founder of pilates and cardio workout group Housework in Miami, Florida, USA, and originally shared her travelling predicament with her 33,000 followers.

It was just five seconds long, but the text on screen said enough.
Essentially, Miller found herself sat between a couple on the flight, though the usual question didn’t fly.
The fitness instructor wrote: “Ended up in a middle seat surrounded by a couple who didn’t want to switch because neither wanted the middle and honestly, I respect it.”
But she later revealed that it wasn’t as straight forward as that, later explaining that they asked her if she wanted to switch to the window seat so that they could take the aisle and middle seats.
Miller suggested that she take the aisle seat instead, but they instead declined and thought it’d be better to sit apart for the entire flight.
She wrote in the caption: “I kinda get it and respect putting themselves first what but what do you guys think lol”.
Speaking more in a follow-up, she explained: “They asked if I wanted to switch to the window but I hate the window so I said no.
“I said I’m happy to switch to the aisle but they didn’t want to do that so they sat window and aisle and I sat in the middle,” she revealed.
Speaking to Newsweek, she added that the flight was from New York to Miami, also saying: “I usually prefer the aisle so I can get in and out to the bathroom easily.”
Miller added that the pair didn’t ‘interact’ throughout the flight, but highlighted that things didn’t become awkward even after she refused to move.

People then took to the comments to share what they thought of sitting separately from partners on flights.
One user said: “I think, if you snooze you lose. Check in early enough and you can choose your seat”
Another added: “I think the hope is that no one buys the middle seat, so then they’d have the row lol”
A third commented: “I hate it. The one time I was in between a couple, the guy (while sleeping) put his hand on my thigh. I’m pretty sure he thought it was his partner.”
But a different user claimed: “I actually like middle seats. I feel more balanced and can claim both armrests.”
A fifth was neutral, recalling: “I don’t mind except for the time a couple spent the whole flight talking over me and passing things an inch in front of my face until I snapped at them.”
What do you think? Would you have moved?
