While it has been claimed that Steven Spielberg was involved in her getting the boot, this is something he has since denied.
What did Megan Fox say about Michael Bay?
Fox was fired from Transformers: Dark of the Moon following a controversial interview in which she slammed working for Bay.
She told Wonderland Magazine in 2009 “He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation.
“He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is.

“So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward.
“He has no social skills at all. And it’s endearing to watch him.”
Fox has since stated that she was asked to apologise for the interview and refused, and this caused her firing.
What role did Steven Spielberg play and what did Michael Bay say about it?
Spielberg came into the project as an executive producer, and according to Bay, was behind her firing, a claim he later denied.
Michael Bay said in an interview with GQ Magazine: “You know the Hitler thing. Steven (Spielberg) said, ‘fire her right now’.”
When asked about it, Spielberg said: “[Shakes head] That’s not true. That didn’t happen.”
Regarding Fox’s comments, which have been confirmed to have led to her firing by Fox, Bay said: “I wasn’t hurt, because I know that’s just Megan. Megan loves to get a response.

“She does it in kind of the wrong way. I’m sorry, Megan. I’m sorry I made you work twelve hours.
“I’m sorry that I’m making you show up on time. Movies are not always warm and fuzzy”.
Fox would later say of the comments: “All I had to do was apologise – and I refused. I was so self-righteous at 23, I couldn’t see [that] it was for the greater good. I really thought I was Joan of Arc.”
What has Megan Fox said about the ‘feud’ between her and Bay?
Despite her comparing him to Hitler, Fox and Bay have seemingly buried the hatchet.
She appeared in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles directed by Bay, as well as its sequel.
According to The Guardian, the pair reportedly resolved their off screen issues over a series of meetings prior to her casting in 2013.
Fox also went to bat for Bay after he came under fire in 2020.
Bay was criticised for ‘sexualising’ Fox as she appeared in Bad Boys 2 at 15, and was shown in a bikini.
An interview showed her telling a story of how Bay told her to ‘dance underneath a waterfall’.

She said following criticism of Bay for this: “Please hear me when I thank you for your support but these specific instances were inconsequential in a long and arduous journey along which I have endured some genuinely harrowing experiences in a ruthlessly misogynistic industry.
“When it comes to my direct experiences with Michael, I was never assaulted or preyed upon in what I felt was a sexual manner.
“There are many names that deserve to be going viral in cancel culture right now, but they are safely stored in the fragmented recesses of my heart.
“I’m thankful to all of you who are brave enough to speak out and I’m grateful to all of you who are taking it upon yourselves to support, uplift, and bring comfort to those who have been harmed by a violent and toxic societal paradigm.”
