This really puts British winners’ medals to shame.
The detail that goes into American sports’ winners rings has been revealed, and it’s left viewers absolutely gobsmacked.
Over the weekend, the Super Bowl took place, and the Philadelphia Eagles triumphed over the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, in a replay of the 2023 fixture.
Super Bowl LIX saw the Lombardi trophy going back to Philadelphia, ruining the Chiefs’, and Travis Kelce’s, dream of a three-peat.
Kendrick Lamar may have stolen headlines on social media for his halftime show, but the match itself still had viewers gripped throughout.

The shock result caught NFL fans off guard, with the Chiefs heavy favourites going into the match-up, as they looked to win three Super Bowls in a row for the first time in history.
Winning players on the Eagles are reportedly set to receive a lump cash sum of $171,000 (£137,000) each for the victory, while losing players will only apparently earn $96,000 (£77,000).
On top of all of this, and different to British sports, all members of the winning team, including staff members, receive a unique ring.
A video of the winners’ ring has gone viral on TikTok recently, with someone showing off a ring from the winning Los Angeles Rams team of 2022.
Rings are made of gold and diamonds, displaying the Super Bowl number in Roman numerals, and are often personalised with the player’s name and jersey number.
It really dwarves the idea of medals, which is what winning teams are treated to across the rest of the world.
The diamonds can also be in the shape of an American football or the Vince Lombardi trophy, while more detailed rings can also feature the team’s conference wins or the final score.
On the outside of the ring, the team’s name and logo can also be seen.
The NFL only pay a fraction of the price of each ring, which can cost anywhere between $30,000 (£24,000) to $50,000 (£40,000).
You do pay for what you get though, as the viral video proved that you can actually open the ring up to reveal a diamond encrusted inside.
The ring splits into two, with once side featuring some pigskin from the football itself, and the other side holding a bit of turf from the field that they played on, which has been stylised to look like a mini American Football field.

Taking to the comments, users were shocked at what was inside, as one said: “Wow, that Super Bowl ring is insane! The detail inside is next level.”
Another added: “Am I the only one here that’s just now finding out Super Bowl rings came apart like that?”
A third pointed out: “I’d be scared the top would fall off,” while others couldn’t believe that some recipients actually choose to sell their rings.
