A Florida woman, Latrance Battle, 52, was arrested after allegedly impersonating an ICE agent to kidnap her ex-boyfriend’s wife. On April 10, Battle reportedly entered the victim’s workplace, dressed in a black shirt labeled “ICE,” and presented a sheriff’s office business card along with a hand-held radio to appear credible. The victim, who is in the process of becoming a legal U.S. resident, believed Battle’s ruse and voluntarily accompanied her.

During the drive, Battle allegedly seized the victim’s phone to prevent her from contacting her husband or attorney. Instead of heading to the sheriff’s office as claimed, Battle took the victim to an apartment complex. There, Battle made a comment suggesting the victim had to “suffer the consequences of her husband’s actions.” Sensing danger, the victim managed to escape with the help of a neighbor and alerted authorities.

Battle was apprehended the following day while attempting to flee to Alabama.
