Talk about an electrifying encore! Sometimes life’s got more twists than a championship bout. LEARN MORE.
Russian fighter Ivan Parshikov is lucky to be alive following a bizarre electrical accident at the Weed Boxing event in Thailand.
Fresh from extending his professional ring record to 16-5-0, the 29-year-old did what any other boxer does in such celebratory times as he stood on the ropes before his adoring fans.
What happened next was next-level odd though, with a nearby lighting fixture stealing his thunder.
Parshikov was using the frame to steady himself whilst exiting the ring, but a current appeared to travel straight through his body and render him unconscious for a second.
His entire body froze before dropping to the exterior canvas perimeter – his legs getting caught up in the ropes in the process.

When his head thumped against the floor though, the boxer almost immediately sprung back to life and proceeded to jump into the surrounding swimming pool.
According to The Sun, he was later given medical attention to give him the all-clear.
Seeing the funny side, Parshikov himself reposted a video of the moment on his Instagram channel, which welcomed a divided reaction from fans.
“Omg you lucky you’re alive bro,” read one message, as someone else joked: “Is there a new battle nickname now ‘Charged’?”
“He won in the ring, but came out of the ring as a loser”, “He’s a power bank, charged for the whole evening” and “That fight was shocking,” were another three.

Elsewhere on the subject of electrocution, a man from Florida has unveiled the shocking injuries he suffered from a 2019 incident, revealing how perhaps Parshikov got off lucky.
John Pendleton, an ex-rock miner, was operating a heavy bit of machinery at the time of his horror experience, leading to 4,160 volts stabbing through the top of his head and exiting via the back of his neck.
When the dad-of-two arose from his nine-day coma, John learned that he’d suffered third and fourth-degree burns on 30 percent of his upper limbs, a bleed on the brain, and a fractured skull.
His other injuries included the loss of his entire right ear and 40 percent of the left one.
“Now there is a hole in my skull,” John told his TikTok followers in a clip.
“The electricity burned almost all of my skin off the head – where it was exposed it was open.”

John claimed that the tissue from his back was removed to create a brand-new ‘head flap’, and yet despite living with tremendous difficulty, he’s able to poke fun at himself.
He went on to share: “I can still hear, OK. As you can see I have my fake ear and I actually bought this the first year I was out of the hospital.
“It was Halloween, we found it at a store, I grabbed it up and for our Halloween party, I threw this at all of my friends’ kids and scared the hell out of all of them.
“They would catch the ear and go ‘oh my God! You have my ear!’ and it was absolutely hilarious.”
