Stars turned out in force for Jacquemus’ fashion show in Paris on Sunday (29 June) – but according to social media users, Gillian Anderson outshined the lot of them.

The X-Files star, 56, looked effortlessly chic as she strutted into the Palace of Versailles in a black cowl-neck maxi dress to see the French fashion designer’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

However, she seemed to have missed the memo about how to look cool in what is supposed to be a candid video, as she hilariously stared the camera down instead.

With iconic celebrities flanking her on the front row of the Jacquemus show and making small talk, staring into the distance, or simply doing anything but glance towards the person filming, Anderson’s eyes almost burned a hole in the lens.

In the short clip shared to TikTok, we got to see what household names such as Matthew McConaughey, Emma Roberts and Stormzy got up to before the Simon Porte Jacquemus showed off his latest collection.

Named ‘Le Paysan’, which translates to ‘The Peasant’, the show paid homage to his childhood in the South of France.

The VIPs adorning the front row – who have been compared to the peacocking elite seen in The Hunger Games film franchise by people online – also included Camila Alves, Jules Kounde, Laura Harrier, Aya Nakamura, BB trickz, Armand Duplantis, and Benito Skinner.

But as we mentioned, it’s The Fall actress Anderson who people can’t take their eyes off in the footage, as she almost looks as though she’s taking part in an intense staring contest.

She stares right down the camera while sweetly flashing a smile as McConaughey and Roberts, who she is sandwiched between, talk across her.

While the footage captured the natural movements of her peers, Anderson appears poised, posed and ready for a camera to snap at her.

Social media users got pretty creative while sharing their thoughts of the Jacquemus guest list in the comment section of the video.

One person joked: “Hunger Games District 1 vibes.”

A second said: “Matthew McConaughey looks PHENOMENAL.”

Another admirer wrote: “How come Gillian Anderson looks 20, my god!”

A fourth laughed: “Just my girl Gillian casually looking at me with those googly eyes.”

And a fifth chimed in saying: “This looks and sounds like the beginning of a horror movie.”

Anderson went on to share her own social media post following the Jacquemus show, which she described as ‘epic’.

She captioned her latest TikTok upload: “Thank you for having me to your S/S 26 show! What an epic afternoon.”
