Oasis fans might well have been loving the music produced by the Gallagher brothers in the first of their reunion gigs, but it seems as if they were less impressed by one of Liam’s cheeky comments.

After it was confirmed that the two Manchester brothers would reunite for a reunion tour last year, fans had been counting down the days until their opening night in Cardiff on 4 July.

Although there was a lot of drama regarding tickets, with one woman even offering out her back garden as accommodation to gig-going fans in Manchester ahead of their performance in Heaton Park, the band enjoyed two sold out performances at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff earlier this week.

While there’s no doubting some of the incredible songs that the two have produced, Liam in particular has also run into trouble for his comments on social media in the past, and is well-known for not having much of a filter – which sadly led to one Oasis superfan cancelling her ticket after one the 52-year-old’s tweets.

And now it seems as if the 70,000 plus spectators in Cardiff, one of whom was captured ‘Shazaming’ a song many consider to be one of the best tunes in recent history, have taken issue after Liam jibed about the fans coming from Manchester, or Burnage, their place of birth.

He shouted: “Anybody here from Manchester? Anyone here from Burn-aaage?”

This was greeted by a chorus of boos, no doubt from the Welsh locals who will believe that they are just as big as fans as those from Manchester.

However, this was probably just a blip in the performance for Oasis, and Liam certainly wasn’t fazed by the boos as he quickly went into his next song while donning his famous tambourine.

The fans also came together to celebrate the music of the band alongside the life of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota, who was paid tribute to on screen after tragically dying in a car crash earlier this week.

Cardiff was just the start for the brothers, with more dates to come in London, Manchester and Edinburgh in the UK. Oasis will then head abroad, first to Dublin before flying further afar, with gigs scheduled in North America, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Chile and Argentina.

Meanwhile, people already think something is wrong with Oasis gigs after seeing the other side of ‘photo of the decade‘ which was taken at their first performance together since 2009.
