Elon Musk’s Bold Move: Inside the Secret New Political Party Shaking Up the Establishment
So, Elon Musk—yeah, the guy whose tweets can send markets into a frenzy and rockets zipping off into space—is diving headfirst into the political ring by claiming he’s launched his very own party: the ‘America Party.’ Now, this isn’t just a late-night brainstorm; it follows a very public falling-out with none other than Donald Trump. Remember when Musk was cozied up in the White House after Trump’s re-election, running the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE—not a joke!), only to walk away bruised and tweeting grievances about the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ Act that apparently crushed his austerity dreams? Things got even messier when he dragged the ‘Jeffrey Epstein files’ into the mix—a move he later regretted—sparking a social media firestorm. So here’s the kicker: can this billionaire disruptor actually reshape the political landscape, or is this just another headline in an endless saga of Musk-versus-the-establishment? Grab your popcorn; this one’s unfolding fast. LEARN MORE.
Elon Musk is claiming to have formed his own political party after a highly publicised fallout with US President Donald Trump.
Following the 79-year-old’s re-election last November, the Tesla founder became a staple in the corridors of the White House after landing a role as a special government employee heading up the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
However, the President’s designated ‘first buddy’ appeared to end his 130-day tenure on rocky terms over Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ Act, which the X owner claimed undermined all of his work in slashing government budgets.
The disagreement later exploded on social media after Musk suggested Trump was included in the ‘Jeffrey Epstein files’ – a claim which he has since expressed regret over sharing.

The great Trump-Musk rift appears to be far from over, however, as the 54-year-old has now launched the ‘America Party’ after floating the idea online over the 4 July weekend.
Taking to X on the Friday, Musk asked his followers if they’d like to see a new political party in the US, writing: “Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system!”
65 percent of voters responded in favour to the idea, prompting Musk to follow-up by promising to form the America Party.
“By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it,” he wrote, adding: “When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy.
“Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”

Has Elon Musk actually formed his own political party?
According to the BBC, the US Federal Electoral Commission has not published any information to suggest the America Party has been officially registered.
However the announcement colliding with Independence Day celebrations may delay the party being formally registered.
It’s also worth noting that Musk, who is South African by birth, is not eligible to run for presidency in the US, despite the businessman becoming a citizen back in 2002.

Why have Donald Trump and Elon Musk fallen out?
The Trump-Musk bromance came crashing down in June when the SpaceX founder broke ranks and criticised the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ Act, saying: “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore.
“This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.”
Trump would then hit back by suggesting Musk was suffering from ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ after leaving the White House and allegedly sent back his gifted Tesla (per Business Insider).
