Julia Fox Unveils Surprising Truth About Her Sexuality—What Being Pansexual Really Means to Her

Ever catch yourself watching a wrestling match and wondering, “Is this sport, or just an extremely sweaty bromance?” Well, Julia Fox is over it—at least, over men and the endless rituals of the masculine mystique . But here’s the twist: Hollywood’s queen of unpredictably honest interviews just came out (again) about her identity—this time as pansexual. You might remember, not so long ago she briefly declared herself a lesbian on TikTok (the woman loves to keep the internet guessing) . But as Fox tells it in her latest Allure interview, her journey to this realization is both audacious and complicated—kind of like pairing stilettos with sweatpants and somehow pulling it off. Will her story make you question your own “type,” or at least, make you chuckle about how much time we all waste waiting for that one unread text? Either way, she’s redefining openness in a world that often confuses thirst traps for self-discovery . LEARN MORE

Julia Fox has come out as pansexual in an interview, which was released on Tuesday (19 August).

Last year, the actor and model appeared to come out as a lesbian on TikTok.

She later told The Times that she’d ‘definitely be up for a relationship with a woman’, adding: “You cannot equate that to a relationship with a man. With a woman, you’re with your bestie, whereas ultimately, men are always going to prioritise other men over you.

“Men love other men and masculine s**t, and watching homoerotic things such as wrestling and football. In this toxic culture I don’t think there’s room for them to love me.”

And now, in an interview with Allure, the Uncut Gems star further clarified where she stood regarding her sexuality, and how it wasn’t an easy conclusion to reach.

The 35-year-old said that she ‘could be attracted to anyone and anything’, claiming that ‘men don’t do it for me at all’.

“If it were just down to the physical, I’m more attracted to the female body,” she admitted, adding: “I can be attracted to a man’s mind. I’m a vibes person.”

Since her comments on TikTok, she further explained that while she’s ‘had crushes and did some stuff’ with women, she’s never had a relationship with one.

Fox added that she ‘can’t see why a man would be beneficial’ in her life at the moment, and she doesn’t have to ‘entertain’ them anymore. Referencing her two-and-a-half-year celibacy in 2024, she was asked whether she misses men, to which she responded: “No, not at all.”

And coming to the realisation she was pansexual wasn’t a simple one; however, she said she thinks it’s ‘harder’ for women to come to terms with their queer identities.

Fox said: “I think women have a harder time [realizing they’re queer] because we are so programmed to perform for men.”

“So much of my survival was hinged upon men taking care of me,” the star added. “There’s just so much more you can do with your time than waiting around to see if a guy’s going to text you back or not.”

Speaking about having ‘psycho codependent bestie’ friendships with other women that were fuelled by possessiveness, she claimed that it was a sign of her being queer.

Fox said to the publication: “Looking back, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, we were in a relationship.’ But there was no way I was going to admit that to myself.”

Now, her focus is solely on being a good mother to her son Valentino, whom she shares with ex-husband Peter Artemiev, and ‘on being a good provider, on making [her] dreams come true.’

But when it comes to having a relationship, she admitted: “I unfortunately can’t commit a hundred per cent of myself. I’m traveling all the time.”
