Ben Stiller Breaks Silence on Jimmy Kimmel’s Shocking Suspension—What He Really Thinks Revealed

Ben Stiller Breaks Silence on Jimmy Kimmel's Shocking Suspension—What He Really Thinks Revealed

What’s funnier—Jimmy Kimmel’s roast of Trump’s ballroom distraction, or the irony of a comedian being benched for talking about…comedy? If you’d told me ten years ago that the most explosive free speech battlefield in America would be late-night TV, I would’ve said, “Sure, just as soon as Ben Stiller joins the resistance.” Well, guess what? Here we are. Kimmel’s show is off the air over comments about Charlie Kirk, networks are tripping over themselves to suspend him, and social media’s ablaze with takes hotter than Donald Trump’s new ballroom carpet. Enter Ben Stiller—always the deadpan MVP—who manages to sum up the entire circus in three words: “This isn’t right.” If you’ve ever wondered what happens when cancel culture, presidential distractions, and late-night sarcasm collide, you’re about to get a front-row seat. So, are we witnessing a punchline or a warning sign? Only time will tell, but for now, let’s pull back the curtain on Kimmel’s latest twist. LEARN MORE.

Ben Stiller gives raw response to Jimmy Kimmel's suspension after Charlie Kirk comments

Jimmy Kimmel’s show has been suspended, now Ben Stiller has given his thoughts

Ben Stiller has given a brief but clear response about his thoughts on American talk show host Jimmy Kimmel being suspended ‘indefinitely’ after he made remarks about Charlie Kirk’s shooting.

In case you hadn’t heard, Kimmel had discussed the shooting of Kirk and the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson on his show Jimmy Kimmel Live! as he hit out at the MAGA movement for ‘desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them’ and trying to spin the shooting into something more politically advantageous for them.

The host also showed people footage of Donald Trump being asked about Kirk’s death, with the US president seemingly getting distracted mid-answer and starting to talk about a new ballroom being built in the White House.

ABC then announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be off TV schedules ‘indefinitely’, while network operator Nexstar said it would stop airing Kimmel’s show.

A tribute to Kirk will be broadcast in place of Kimmel’s usual Friday slot, while the Sinclair Broadcast Group suggested that the talk show host wouldn’t be back on screens until he apologised to Charlie Kirk’s family and made a ‘meaningful personal donation to the Kirk Family and Turning Point USA’.

The decision to suspend Kimmel and take his show off the air indefinitely has been met with severe criticism, and Ben Stiller was among those who spoke out against the decision.

“This isn’t right,” he said on social media as he came out with a direct response to Kimmel’s suspension.

Many others have spoken on the subject as well, with former US President Barack Obama saying this had taken cancel culture to a ‘new and dangerous level’.

Wanda Sykes said Trump had ended ‘freedom of speech within his first year’, while MSNBC host Chris Hayes called it ‘the most straightforward attack on free speech from state actors I’ve ever seen in my life’.

There is a plethora of condemnation for Kimmel’s show being taken off the air.

One person who is really happy at Kimmel’s suspension is Donald Trump, who posted gleefully on Truth Social and directed several insults towards the talk show host.

Trump had previously made it clear he expected Kimmel and fellow host Jimmy Fallon to be off the air soon, as when asked about his response to Stephen Colbert’s show ending, he tipped the two Jimmys to be ‘next’.

He said: “Fallon has no talent, Kimmel has no talent. They’re next. They’re gonna be going. I hear they’re going to be going…”
