A French woman tricked into sending £700,000 to a man impersonating Brad Pitt has revealed the intimate text messages they exchanged.
Earlier this year, 53-year-old Anne Deneuchatel revealed she’d been left penniless after being conned into sending all her money to a scammer posing as the Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood star, believing she was funding the actor’s ‘cancer treatment’.
Deneuchatel ended up sending the imposter a total of €830,000 (£697,000) over the course of their online relationship, before eventually reporting the situation to local police.
Authorities were eventually able to track down the scammers, which were revealed to be a group operating out of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the fallout of the viral story saw Deneuchatel divorce her husband and receive inpatient psychiatric treatment over the ordeal.

Eight months on from the story first making headlines and Deneuchatel has now written a book about her experience, titled Je ne serai plus une proie’ (I Will No Longer Be a Prey), which details everything that happened between her and the fake Brad Pitt.
The book sees the divorcee detail the intimate messages exchanged between her and ‘Brad’, which include heart-to-heart discussions about the actor’s alcohol addiction, loneliness and the fallout from his divorce to Angelina Jolie.
“‘My queen,’ he called her. ‘You are all I have. I adore you. Baby, I love you so much,'” read one message sent to Deneuchatel by the imposter (via Le Monde).
The pair would message several times a day, with the scammer sending poems, romantic messages, and a marriage proposal.
Deneuchatel also opened up about the marital difficulties she’d been experiencing at the time, revealing how her conversations with ‘Brad’ provided her with an escape.
“My husband had put me in a bind,” she said. “He said I should be content to be a trophy. I no longer had any independence. At one point, it seemed easier to help ‘Brad’ than to help myself.”

Deneuchatel has since divorced her husband, reported to be a wealthy businessman, calling the end of her marriage ‘the only positive thing’ to have come from the scam.
Meanwhile Pitt, who is currently in a relationship with Ines de Ramon, released a statement about the situation, revealing his horror over the situation.
“It’s awful that scammers take advantage of the strong bond between fans and celebrities,” a representative for Pitt said, before sharing a general reminder about internet safety.
“This is an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online messages, especially from actors who are not present on social networks.”
