A man who says he’s the great-great-great-nephew of Colonel Sanders has shared the KFC Original Recipe of 11 herbs and spices in an act of revenge against the fast-food chain.

The TikToker, claims to be the last Sanders in the Colonel’s family line, and has built an impressive following by making videos ‘dedicated to upholding Colonel Sanders’ legacy and the Kentucky Fried Chicken history.’

The content creator says the KFC social media accounts blocked him ‘for upholding his true history, to let people know who he actually was’.

Now, the supposed relative of Sanders has shared what he claims to be the secret 11 herbs and spices mix that creates the signature finger lickin’ good chicken batter.

“My response to KFC blocking me is, do you want to know how to make their chicken?” he says in the clip. “This recipe I have put together through facts. There’s a lot of ingredients on here that can be proven through public information and I gathered all that together.”

He went on to say that if KFC has an issue with him sharing the recipe, he’ll back it up with all the receipts and information.

“The other ingredients on this list, that cannot be proven through public information is from my cousins on Lee Cummings’ side, because Lee was the nephew that knew the recipe,” Sanders continued, revealing there was a court case to prove Cummings’ knew the recipe and was blocked from being able to use it.

According to him, the 11 herbs and spices are sage, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon red pepper / cayenne, coriander, ginger, garlic powder, white pepper, black pepper, and the secret ingredient cardamom.

Sanders did confirm that the measurements he provides are not necessarily the same used by his great-great-great-uncle, rather they are the measurements that his family likes. Instead he encouraged people to experiment with different amounts until they find their preference.

However, as people in the comments were quick to point out, it’s not just the spice blend that makes KFC chicken unique, but the way the chicken is cooked in a pressure fryer instead of a regular deep fryer.

Either way, the Colonel’s nephew leaking the original KFC recipe was not on our 2025 bingo card but we’ll definitely be giving it a go.
