South Park Creators Unleash Unexpected Emmy Clapback—Trump’s Reaction Will Shock You

The savage satirical comedy show South Park might have just won itself another Emmy Award – but the creators couldn’t resist using the opportunity to lampoon President Trump once again.

The gong was handed to them for the infamous “Sermon on the Mount” episode, which left Trump furious by depicting him literally in bed with Satan. He was also shown running chaotically in the White House and was characterised as a reskin of dead Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, reports TMZ.

The White House punched back at the show by issuing a statement that said South Park was, “irrelevant for 20 years, relying on uninspired ideas for attention.”

Shortly after accepting the recognition for Outstanding Animated Program Sunday, the Comedy Central series took to its X account to slam the President once again.

Alongside an image of a smug-looking Trump bearing the trophy, the message on X read: “You finally got your Emmy.”

The caption said, “Congratulations to Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and the entire South Park team on their Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program!”

The jab references Trump’s time as a reality TV star in The Apprentice. In 2004 and 2005, he was nominated for an Emmy in both years but failed to win.

Much like a prequel to his recent spat with the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, which he failed to win in January this year, this track record with the Emmys is a history he had complained about on multiple occasions.

South Park, however, has notched up five Emmy awards so far, and much like the Nobel Prize – which was handed to him by Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado in lieu of the President winning – Trump has had to wait for South Park to hand him an Emmy.

However, unlike Machado’s Nobel Prize, he is unlikely to formally accept this one from the hit cartoon.
