Having been featured on Bored Panda several times before, Danielle Spires has never been particularly interested in making pet photography look overly polished or predictable. The Los Angeles photographer builds her portraits around personality, eccentricity, and humor, with images that can feel part Victorian painting, part ’80s studio portrait, and part wonderfully strange family snapshot. Her stylized sets draw on influences ranging from Renaissance and Baroque art to midcentury design and horror, while her studio welcomes cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, rodents, and even tarantulas.
But photography isn’t the only place Spires is getting creative. She also came up with Claw Club TV, an intentionally old-school analog CatTV channel for feline viewers and their humans. Running as “Channel 27,” it features cozy train rides, rainy cafés, reading nooks, Yule logs, and ’80s cartoons, all created without AI or digitally generated imagery.
