TikTok stars Shane and Hannah Burcaw have shared a sweet new update on their pregnancy after the dad-to-be shared one of his ‘biggest worries’ about becoming a parent.
On 8 September, the content creators announced they were expecting their first child, revealing that they had initially decided to enjoy ‘this special time in private’ and that Hannah was 20 weeks pregnant.
The couple, who have around 1.85 million subscribers on their Squirmy and Grubs YouTube channel, said the new arrival would be here in January and that they would bring fans along on their journey to parenthood.
In a candid post shared earlier this week, Shane – who has spinal muscular atrophy and uses a wheelchair – opened up about one of his biggest concerns when it came to being a dad.

“One of my biggest worries about having children is the extent to which I’ll be able to physically interact with them,” he wrote.
Shane went on to say that this fear also extended to being able to feel their little one kicking while still in the womb.
He continued: “I know and believe that parenting and love do not require physical ability, but I still grapple with those deep down anxieties at times, especially as our baby began kicking in Hannah’s womb a few weeks ago. I hoped, but didn’t know for certain whether, I’d be able to reach my arms far enough to feel the kicking myself.”
But in a touching clip shared alongside the post, Shane could be seen shutting down some of those fears as he lovingly held Hannah’s growing bump as the baby kicked.
“Guess what?” he asked. “I’m feeling the baby kick.”
Hannah then chipped in to say it was Shane’s ‘new favourite activity’.
“The baby is already stronger than I am,” Shane said with a laugh, while Hannah shared that she’d been feeling the baby moving around since she was 15 weeks pregnant.
“It’s the most wild thing in the world to feel it moving around in there,” he said.
The couple also let slip that they know the gender of their baby but haven’t shared it with their millions of followers just yet.

In an interview with PEOPLE shortly after their pregnancy announcement, Shane spoke about how much of his parenting would not be impacted by his disability.
“One thing that has made me feel good is that they are reminding me that so much of parenting is not the physical stuff,” Shane said.
“A human being, yes, needs physical care as a baby, but a lot of parenting is about the mind and emotions and learning and love.”
He added: “My disability will not inhibit me from doing that with our kid in any way. So that’s been really reassuring for me.”
He also revealed that they’d look for ways and products that would make life easier, including a variety of pillows that will allow the little one to lie comfortably on Shane’s lap as well as a carrier that can be attached to his wheelchair.
“I can’t wait to figure out all those little ways that we can make it work,” he added.
