A GP was tragically found dead at home ‘while hosting a kids’ sleepover’ with a man now arrested and murder probe underway.
The woman in her 40s had been found by emergency services at the property which backs on to the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
Norfolk Police said they were called to a property in Fern Hill at around 2.20am on Sunday (4 October) and found the woman dead at the scene.
She has been named locally as Hannah Cain, also known as Hannah Terry, a GP at Grimston Medical Centre.
According to various reports and the Fakenham Times , locals said that the mum-of-three had young children and their friends over to stay at the time of the incident and that police had to return the youngsters home.

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre. He remains in custody after detectives were given extra time to quiz him.
Details around the cause of death have not yet been released but a Home Office post mortem was scheduled to take place.
A spokesperson for Norfolk Police said: “Detectives have been granted extra time to question a man arrested following the death of a woman in Dersingham.
“Police were called to a house in Fern Hill shortly after 2.20am yesterday (Sunday 4 October 2026) by the ambulance service. Sadly, a woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre where he remains.

“Officers applied to Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court for a warrant of further detention. The warrant will allow them an additional 32 hours to question the man.
“A cordon is still in place at the address while we continue to carry out enquiries.”
Det Insp Alix Wright, of the major investigation team, added: “We are in the very early stages of this investigation, working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
“I’d ask anyone who believes they may have information that could help our investigation to please share this with us.”

Tributes paid to ‘lovely’ mum and GP
Following her death, tributes have been paid online to Hannah, who was described as ‘lovely’.
“Fly high and sleep well Dr Terry,” one person penned on social media.
“You never deserved this to happen, heaven has gained an angel. You was a lovely Dr who listened to us and helped us.”
One neighbour meanwhile told the Fakenham Times: “She was just a lovely human being with three gorgeous young children.
“Something’s obviously gone very badly wrong. I’m just out of words, we all are.”
Meanwhile an update shared by the Grimston Medical Centre, where Hannah was listed as a GP, said they would be closing temporarily due to the ‘extremely difficult circumstances’.
A post to their social media read: “We are sorry to let patients know that Grimston Medical Centre, including the dispensary, is temporarily closed due to extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team.
“We apologise for the disruption and appreciate your patience and understanding at what is a very difficult time for our colleagues.
“We expect the practice to remain closed for the rest of today and will provide a further update as soon as possible.
“Thank you for your understanding and for respecting the privacy of our practice team at this time.”
