Mystery Man Charms Pop Superstar—Without Realizing Her Fame
What are the odds that you could spend your whole life chasing foul balls and soaking up the roar of the crowd—yet not have even the faintest clue who Dua Lipa is? Well, I’ll admit, that’s exactly what happened when Marlins Man, the neon-orange icon of ballparks everywhere, crossed paths with global pop royalty at a Yankees game. It’s the kind of surreal collision only baseball’s grand stage could bring: a man famed for his devotion to sport chatting up a woman adored by millions for making music history—and he’s got no idea he’s talking to Grammy gold. There’s something almost poetic about it, don’t you think? When you’re that deep in the game, sometimes the world’s biggest stars just look like another set of friendly faces in the bleachers. So, what happens when worlds this different collide, and kindness is the middle ground? The result is surprisingly—charmingly—wholesome. Want to see how this one-of-a-kind moment unfolded? American lawyer and sports fanatic Marlins Man has spoken out after admitting he had absolutely no idea who Dua Lipa was.
Laurence Leavy became known as Marlins Man after he gained online fame in 2012 for his frequent appearances at major sporting events while wearing orange Miami Marlins clothing.
But he was most recently pictured chatting away at the New York Yankees ALDS game with the New Rules singer and her husband, actor Callum Turner.
“Marlins Man is rizzing up Dua Lipa at a New York Yankees ALDS game,” a post on X read, shared by Barstool Sports. “There are zero remaining sentences.”
The video showed Leavy, dressed in his usual orange sports attire, speaking to the celebrity pair as they watched the game.

But he recently spoke out about the exchange, admitting he had no idea who they were.
Dua Lipa has won three Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, and multiple Billboard and iHeartRadio Music Awards in the United States for her music.
In a post on X and sharing a selfie of them together, he wrote: “So I had no idea who this couple were and they were so nice and friendly to everyone.
“I told them I know sports, not music nor movies. They recently got married in June in Italy I think. I wish them 50 years or more of happiness.”
Lipa and Turner officially tied the knot at a civil ceremony in May, and then at a lavish celebration in Sicily in June.
The couple, who began dating in early 2024 and got engaged in June 2025, welcomed high-profile attendees including from Elton John, Charli XCX and Grace Gummer.
Fans rushed to respond to the post, as one person wrote: “Really wholesome that they treated him like old friends instead of stars at a game.”
Another responded: “Baseball crowds are the only place left where you can just vibe with strangers and nobody asks what you do for a living. That’s the whole dream right there.”
A third meanwhile commented: “This is so wholesome.”
