Stephen Graham Transforms Into Chilling Serial Killer in Mystery-Filled 10-Episode Crime Saga

Ever wonder what it would be like if Hannibal Lecter had a British accent and could possibly outwit you—not just from across a dinner table but from deep inside a max security cell? Well, buckle up, because Stephen Graham is about to make that fever dream a reality in his latest role, and honestly, I’m already nervy. You know, some actors just have that uncanny knack for inhabiting the skin of monsters, then waltzing right back into your living room as if they hadn’t just haunted your dreams. Graham, after slaying in “Adolescence” (still not over that…don’t even get me started about the son in jail), seems ready to send shivers down our collective spines—this time as Jurek Walter in the dark, tantalizing world of “Nocturne.” It’s not every day a performer gets compared to Anthony-freaking-Hopkins in “Silence of the Lambs,” but here we are, making odds on whether he’s about to bag another Emmy.

But here’s what gets me—the social feeds are already ablaze. Is it possible to resist tuning in when fans are practically foaming at the mouth? (“If Stephen Graham’s in it, I’m watching it.” Same.) And with a plot teased as so twisty, so brainy, the only way you’ll keep up is if you cancel your Friday plans until Christmas? Oh, and did I mention Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz are rolling into small-town Pennsylvania mayhem too? Really, the main dilemma now is: should we stock up on popcorn, or just admit that Graham has us all hypnotized before the first episode even drops? Just try to look away.

Stephen Graham’s will return to our screens in a serial killer role which has already earned him comparisons with Hannibal Lecter the Silence of the Lambs.

There’s no doubting Graham’s skills as an actor, which were reinforced with his brilliant performance in the recent Netflix series Adolescence, but if he can get even close to what the great Anthony Hopkins managed in the 1991 horror classic, then it will do his chances of another Emmy win no harm.

The 53-year-old actor will portray the murderous Jurek Walter in an upcoming Apple TV series and fans are no doubt excited to see him take to the screen once again following his recent appearances in Bunker and Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

The New York Times describe Graham’s character as ‘a serial killer, so intelligent and seductive he seems to be able to murder people from beyond his maximum-security cell, matches wits with a world-weary, brilliant cop’.

Nocturne will release on the platform on 30 October and also stars Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz, who will play FBI agents trying to save a small town in Pennsylvania, as well as their own families.

The show is based on two books, ‘The Sandman’ and ‘Lazarus’, which were written by husband and wife duo Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril. Goals.

Although we’re yet to see him in action, the trailer gives us an insight into what we can expect from Graham in the upcoming series. You can watch the trailer below, if you’d like.

Reaction to the trailer has been largely positive and it seems as if Graham is a big part of that, with the Boiling Point star widely regarded as one of the biggest acting talents to come out of Britain.

One Instagram user said: “If Stephen Graham’s in it, I’m watching it.”

Another wrote: “Stephen Graham has the ability to make me watch anything.”

A third posted: “I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him put a foot wrong… Stephen Graham is just superb.”

A fourth joked: “Please be kind to him at least – his son is in jail for god’s sake.” – If you haven’t seen Adolescence then I apologise for the spoilers, although at least you know now that his son isn’t actually in jail.

Nocturne will make its global debut next Friday, with the first two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday through 25 December 2026, on Apple TV. And it seems as if a lot of people are going to be tuning in, even if it’s just to see Graham again.
