Big Brother’s Secret Warning to Omar: What Really Happened Between Him and Rhianna?

Big Brother’s Secret Warning to Omar: What Really Happened Between Him and Rhianna?

Isn’t it wild how a reality show can suddenly feel less like comfort TV and more like a live-action ethics debate? I never expected to see Big Brother—that bubbly fishbowl of late-night snack drama—spark a collective gasp louder than someone hiding the last teabag. But here we are. Monday night’s episode felt like it spun off-script, leaving viewers squirming over Omar’s tense split with Rhianna, and oh, did the nation notice . With comments that left a sour taste (yep, telling someone “not to cry” on national TV is not the move), fans didn’t just tweet—they mobilized. I mean, 7,138 Ofcom complaints and even Women’s Aid weighed in. What’s really fascinating—or worrying, depending on your morning coffee intake—is how quickly one awkward exchange turned into a public reckoning, and eventually, a Big Brother Diary Room intervention. Makes you wonder: is reality TV finally forcing us to draw the line on what’s ‘entertaining’ and what’s just plain unchecked? LEARN MORE

Big Brother gave Omar a warning after viewers called out ‘uncomfortable’ scenes between him and Rihanna.

On Monday (19 October) night’s episode, Omar and Rhianna split up after the pair had a tense discussion about their relationship.

But viewers were left outraged by some of the comments Omar made to Rhianna throughout the episode – including a conversation where he told her ‘not to cry’.

On X, several Big Brother fans announced they felt they could no longer watch the show while others vowed to contact governing broadcasting body Ofcom.

Yesterday, it was revealed that the episode garnered 7,138 complaints to Ofcom.

An Ofcom spokesperson told LADbible: “We are assessing the complaints against our rules, but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate.”

Charity Women’s Aid also issued a statement, calling Omar’s behaviour ‘worrying’.

On last night’s episode, Omar was called into the Diary Room, with Big Brother announcing: “Omar, Big Brother needs to speak to you about some of your language and behaviour in the house.”

Once inside, Big Brother addressed the concerns without naming any specific housemates.

“Big Brother wants to bring to your attention that at times it appears that you are dismissing your fellow housemate’s feelings and experiences and not acknowledging the impact such behaviour could have on your fellow housemates and the viewing public,” Big Brother said.

“Some of your language used on more than occasion and the behaviour you’ve exhibited could cause offence to your fellow housemates or the viewing public.”

Omar replied: “Nah I fully understand, I’ve just never dismissed a housemates feelings in all honesty.

“If I felt like a housemate was feeling something towards me which was incorrect then I would say that’s incorrect, it’s not necessarily dismissive.

“I didn’t tell them they don’t deserve a feeling and they don’t deserve to feel like that. Lets just be honest here we’re not talking about housemates we’re talking about my conversations with Rhianna.”

He went on: “I’ve done nothing but look out for her. I’ve done nothing but try and accommodate her and reassure her and be there for her and care for her.

“At the end of the day I didn’t walk in there with any bad intentions or any malice and I didn’t attempt to exercise anything malicious towards anyone.

“Like I said I’ve acknowledged my housemates feelings.”

Some viewers were left unimpressed with Omar’s response to Big Brother, with one accusing him of ‘refusing to take accountability’.

Earlier this week, an ITV spokesperson said: “All Housemates receive Respect and Inclusion training and an extensive briefing from the Big Brother Senior team to prepare them for living in the House and to set out Big Brother’s expectations for appropriate behaviour and language.

“Housemates are monitored 24 hours a day and any instances of inappropriate behaviour are responded to appropriately.

“Welfare and safeguarding are prioritised throughout the production, with a dedicated welfare team available to support Housemates before, during and after their time in the House.”

ITV has been approached for further comment by LADbible.
