Wiśniewski said he was able to hold the sword after it was recovered by the authorities. Although this was not his first significant find, having unearthed early Iron Age jewelry from the same region, Wiśniewski said holding the 2,700-year-old sword was an unforgettable experience.
“I was standing in front of an object that I estimate is about 3,000 years old,” he told TVP. “Someone, for some reason, drove it into the ground, and after all these years I was able to hold it in my hands.”
