People are divided over the price of Apple’s thinnest ever iPhones.

The tech giant announced their new set of iPhones during their event this evening (9 September), including the release of a brand-new smartphone.

Their new iPhone 17 Air is just 5.6mm thin, with a 6.5″ ProMotion display and a ceramic shield front and back.

“Despite being much thinner and lighter, iPhone Air still gets amazing all-day battery life,” the company added.

It features a 6.5-inch ProMotion display, a single 48 MP rear camera, a titanium build, 12 GB of RAM, and the same A19 chip as the 17.

“The 48MP Fusion Main camera with 2x Telephoto supports the latest advanced features like next-generation portraits and more,” Apple said.

The new eSIM-only phone also has 3,000 nits of peak brightness, as Apple claims the design is its ‘most durable’ yet.

It’s also got a titanium frame that is ‘space grade’, and it comes in white, gold, black, and sky blue colors.

“Our intention was to make an iPhone that feels like a piece of the future, powerful, yet so thin and light it seems to disappear in your hands,” an Apple presenter said.

However, it’s priced £200 more than the standard iPhone 17, coming in at £999.
