“Beyond the Bite: Discover the Deadliest Creatures Lurking in Our Oceans and Jungles!”
7. Platypus
The Platypus is famous for being one of the two only egg-laying mammals in the world. However, many don’t know this creature has a potent venom. The Duck-billed Platypus has spurs on its ankles, which are powerful enough to kill small animals such as dogs. In human beings, the pain of being spiked by a Platypus is quite excruciating, but the venom is not lethal.
On the bright side, the venom of a Platypus can be used to treat diabetes. Even though this venom is a defense mechanism against predators, researchers have found evidence that Platypus utilizes this bodily feature to fight off competitors during mating season.
8. Komodo Dragon
The Komodo dragon, the largest lizard on Earth, uses strength and venom to kill their prey. These creatures have serrated teeth that come in handy in shredding prey into pieces. They also produce venom in their glands, preventing blood from clotting while inducing a state of shock that allows the Komodo Dragons to feast on their prey in peace. Because of the abovementioned attributes, Komodo Dragons are recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest venomous animal on Earth.
