Cardi B Reveals Shocking Shower Routine That Has Fans Stunned

Ever wondered what happens when a global rap sensation admits she hasn’t washed her hair for, oh, let’s say two to three months? Yep, Cardi B just casually dropped that bombshell during an Instagram live, leaving fans both horrified and oddly intrigued. The woman who can switch wigs faster than you change Netflix shows confessed she’s been rocking her natural tresses with a minimal (read: nearly nonexistent) wash routine—courtesy of a head that’s “probably got all type of roach eggs, mosquito eggs… everything.” Now, before you lose your lunch or judge the queen of hip-hop’s hygiene, consider this: maybe her unplugged hair schedule is just part of her charm and hustle. Or maybe, it’s a cheeky jab at all our obsession with spotless locks. Either way, Cardi’s candid (and kinda gross) revelation has everyone buzzing—some in disbelief, others in defense of natural hair care. So, is this the new beauty mantra, or just a hilarious outlier? If you want to keep up with Cardi B’s hair regimen, the good news is that it requires minimal effort.

The rapper, 33, dropped the details of her current washing schedule – or lack thereof – during an Instagram live earlier this week.

Cardi left fans seriously grossed out after she confessed there could be all sorts hiding in her hair – as she hasn’t cleaned it in so long.

The music star often switches up her look by donning different wigs, so she seems to think her natural tresses aren’t that dirty.

She told social media users that she had oiled up her mop in preparation of ‘doing her real hair’, explaining she intended to wash it before braiding it.

“I haven’t washed my s**t in like two months, I’m not even gonna front,” the mother-of-three, who is pregnant with her fourth child, said.

“I haven’t washed my hair in like two months. Matter of fact, I’m lying, [it’s] probably like three months. I don’t f***ing know.

“I probably got all type of roach eggs, mosquito eggs…everything in this b***h right here.”

We presume – and hope – that the last line of Cardi’s comment was tongue-in-cheek, but a lot of people online didn’t seem to think so.

One person wrote on X: “Imma throw up for real.”

Another asked: “How is not washing a body part for three months normalised?”

A third added: “Imagine the smell.”

While a fourth joked: “Cardi B’s hair game is so strong, even roaches and mosquitoes are lining up for a spot!”

Others suggested that the ‘Bodak Yellow’ musician, who is known for her sense of humour, wasn’t being entirely serious on the Instagram live.

A host of people leapt to her defence, including one fan who remarked: “Y’all take everything she says so seriously. There’s not roach eggs in her hair like bffr.”

Another said: “Personally for my hair texture, it thrives a lot better when I wash it once a month. Too much washing strips my hair of the moisture it needs and too much manipulation breaks it off.”

And another commented: “Idk what’s funnier, her making fun of herself or you believing this is true lmao.”

According to the Black Skin Directory, wearing wigs on a regular basis doesn’t mean that you should ‘neglect’ your natural hair.

In fact, it warns that it’s a ‘recipe for hair loss and scalp infections’ – but this can ‘all be avoided with proper under-wig hair maintenance’.

The platform explains that it is key to wash your natural hair weekly and keep your scalp clean, while you should also clean wig caps regularly, as they can ‘absorb sweat and oils from your scalp’.

“Monthly deep conditioning treatments are essential to keep your hair moisturised and strong and whilst scalp treatments can prevent dry skin and flakes,” it adds.

Celebrity hairstylist Subrina Kidd explained: “Sometimes people think, ‘I’m wearing a wig so it’s easy’.

“And they forget about their own hair, but it’s key that you still cleanse and hydrate your hair weekly using a gentle cleansing shampoo.”

Cardi isn’t the only star to admit to putting their hair-washing schedule on the back burner.

Gavin and Stacey legend James Corden previously revealed that he only gives his hair a wash ‘every two months’ and hops in the shower for just a few minutes each time.
