“Chris Hemsworth’s Shocking Regret: Why a Selfie with Billie Eilish Turned into a Major Mistake!”
Isn’t it funny how snapping a quick selfie with a celebrity can be the highlight of your week—or at least a solid trump card in pub conversations? Personally, I think everyone dreams of that moment, only to freeze like a deer in headlights when the opportunity arises. Chris Hemsworth found himself in just such a predicament at the 2024 Oscars when he approached none other than Billie Eilish for a photo. But rather than basking in the glory of his cool dad status—imagine the kids’ faces!—he quickly realized he might’ve crossed a line from “work colleague” to “starstruck fan.” Talk about a plot twist! If you want to dive deeper into Hemsworth’s hilarious misadventure, LEARN MORE.
Getting a quick picture with one of your favourite celebrities can be an easy way to make all your mates jealous and have bragging rights down the pub.
But the reality is, if the situation ever came about, and you actually see a star in real life, you might just end up feeling too nervous or embarrassed to ask for a photo.
And for Chris Hemsworth, asking for a selfie with Billie Eilish was something he instantly regretted.
Well, it seems he regretted it while it was still happening.
In the kind of content that’s prime for going viral, the Thor actor got a selfie with the ‘Birds of a Feather’ singer and his wife, Elsa Pataky, at the 2024 Oscars.

During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Hemsworth was asked if he’d ever asked someone for their autograph, which prompted him to recall his snap with Eilish.
“I remember thinking ‘Ah, don’t do it, don’t do it’,” he explained. “But ‘Nah, my kids are going to love this.’”
Pataky and Hemsworth have been married since 2010 and share three children together; daughter India Rose and twin boys Sasha and Tristan.
And yet, despite thinking it would win him cool dad points with his children, right in the moment that he took the selfie with the Grammy winner, he was regretting it.
That’s because the Marvel star decided it meant he ‘went from work colleague to now like a fan.’”
“We’ll never be friends,” he joked, “never be best friends.”
Colbert then confirmed that Hemsworth has never actually worked on a project with Eilish but the actor explained: “You know, same industry kinda colleague, bumping shoulders.”

So, the host then joked this therefore meant he and Anthony Hopkins are ‘work colleagues’.
Hemsworth certainly does seem to keep up a cool dad rep with his kids as he previously spoke out defending his son calling him by his first name.
After a family fishing trip, the star shared a series of snaps as fans pointed out his son was calling him Chris. And while some said this was ‘disrespect’, the Aussie disagreed.
“My son wanted to catch a fish for the locals in Fiji and after three attempts and about 12 hrs at sea we pulled in this beauty,” he wrote on Instagram. “Fed the village for three days.
“Ps if you’re wondering why my son calls me Chris it’s because I’m his BFF and true mates don’t call each other dad.”
