Chris Hughes in Tears: The Emotional Fallout After Backlash for 'Creepy' Jojo Siwa Comment
Ever pondered how the rollercoaster of reality TV friendships can really tug at your heartstrings? Well, buckle up, because this latest episode of Celebrity Big Brother might just about do that. Chris Hughes, known from Love Island, found himself in a rather emotional pickle with his housemate, JoJo Siwa. In a twist that could rival any season finale, Chris was left in tears, navigating the choppy waters of a friendship that’s got everyone at the edge of their seats.
Why, you ask, has this unique pairing struck such a chord? It seems the house, and indeed some viewers, struggle to wrap their heads around the close bond between Chris and JoJo, leading to whispers, misunderstandings, and, well, tears. It’s not just about the gameplay for some, it’s about the genuine connections that might be misread in the glaring lights of the BB house.
Tonight’s episode promises to delve deeper into Chris’s emotional turmoil, as he attempts to justify his friendship with JoJo, leaving both housemates and audiences questioning: Can a man and woman’s friendship be purely platonic in the game of reality TV – and, more importantly, why does it have to be questioned at all?

Chris Hughes has been left in tears over his friendship with JoJo Siwa in the Big Brother house.
Fans have shared concern for the Love Island star ahead of tonight’s (21 April) episode of Celebrity Big Brother after he was slammed for a ‘creepy’ comment.
Hughes and Siwa quickly formed a duo in the house this series and have become close mates. However, it seems some viewers can’t quite comprehend how close they are and perhaps, neither can some of their housemates.
While some seem incapable of understanding Siwa, who is proudly gay and in a relationship, can have a friendship like this with Hughes, others have also suggested he is ‘playing a game’.
As viewers online claim he might be using the Dance Moms legend to help him ‘crack America’, some housemates seem to agree.
Before he was evicted, Daley Thompson told Ella Rae Wise: “I know it’s difficult if you are struggling to be heard, put your hand up. Because there’s some people that are really loud and there’s some people that do this professionally as a game.”
And in what seemed to be a dig at Hughes and Siwa, he added: “There’s two people in here that do it all of the time. I think on the cameras; people will be interested in their relationship.”
Wise also slammed the pair earlier in the show, as the TOWIE star called them ‘professional reality stars and social climbers’ and claimed they were ‘playing a game’.
The 24-year-old, who is a reality star herself, added: “I just feel, and this is my personal opinion, that there are social climbers in this industry, and I think he would benefit a hell of a lot.”

Hughes had claimed Wise was potentially experiencing some ‘jealousy’, but it appears in tonight’s episode the tension has gotten to him.
“I’m literally just in here being me, living. I hate toxic stuff in life like I hate environments. It just brings you down,” he says to Big Brother in the Diary Room.
“You can feel when energy shifts and it’s not nice. I don’t want to be emotional and sad, but you can’t help it sometimes. People have made me feel like I can’t have a friendship with JoJo.
“Or feel like I have to justify a friendship with JoJo – because we get on and we have fun. I’m actually really sad.”

Reacting to his comments on X, fans say they ‘hate that people in there are making him feel like this’ as some say it’s ‘the most jealous CBB house ever’.
Others did say they’re ‘tired’ of watching Chris and JoJo as many defend their friendship.
“The way people are reacting to Chris and Jojo just proves men and women can’t have close friendships without people being weird about it,” one wrote.
“Chris is well aware JoJo is a lesbian and has a partner and I think insinuating he is trying to flirt with her is so weird sorry.”
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm.
