Dana White Reveals Shocking Transformation After Grueling 86-Hour Water Fast—You Won’t Believe the Before and After Photos

Ever wondered if going three and a half days without chewing your favorite snacks could actually turn you into a ripped, superhero version of yourself? Well, according to UFC boss Dana White—who’s about as far from a dietitian as you can get—an 86-hour water fast just might do the trick. Now, before you start picturing yourself battling hunger pangs like a starvation gladiator, hear this: White didn’t just survive, he thrived, coming out looking like a whole new man. Sure, this isn’t your everyday “skip lunch” advice, and yes, you absolutely need to run this by your healthcare pro before diving in. But if you’re curious about how a guy who runs the fight game stripped down by just sipping water (plus a little bone broth) for over three days, stick around. It’s weird, wild, and honestly, pretty inspiring. LEARN MORE.

If you want to ‘feel like a superhero’ and get ‘absolutely shredded’ in the process, Dana White reckons an 86-hour ‘water fast’ is the way to go.

The UFC boss isn’t a dietician nor a doctor, however, he believes that abstaining from solids for over three days did him the world of good – and he just had to let the rest of us in on it.

So, while it’s important to do your own research and consult with a healthcare professional before you sign up to something like this, there’s no harm in having a look at White‘s insane results in the meantime.

And we’re not joking when we say insane… as the 55-year-old looked like a new man after his 86-hour water fast, which he first completed in November 2023.

In a video shared to his Instagram at the time, White explained that for the first 24-hours of this period, all he consumed was water.

“You can put electrolytes in your water, but make sure they are zero sugar, zero carbs, zero calories,” he told his more than 10 million followers.

The following day, he repeated this process – but he was also allowed to sip some bone broth twice a day, which are rules that he also abided by on day three.

“You’re going to feel incredible,” he said, while sharing impressive before and after photos which showed how fasting had transformed his physique.

But if you’re somehow still not convinced after seeing White’s snaps of his super defined six-pack, you might be more inclined to pay attention to him after reading what those 86-hours were actually like.

During a previous appearance on the Full Send Podcast, the fitness fanatic explained he was inspired to give the water fast a go after hearing about a series of clinical studies on the topic.

What he gathered from all of this information was that when you put your body through ‘different types of adversity’, it can have some extraordinary results.

“Like cold plunging, for instance,” White told the hosts. “You stay in there for three minutes at 50 degrees, your body thinks you’re dying and your liver releases that shock protein, which is really good for you.

“When you do this water fast, your body starts fighting to try to stay alive when you do stuff like this to it.

“Apparently, it sheds all the bad dead cells and regenerates all these new cells to fight starvation – or whatever the body thinks is happening. How does that not make sense? It’s f***ing awesome man.”

He claimed that those who partake in the fast reduce their risk of cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and a ‘bunch of other nasty sh*t’ by a whopping 70 percent. Although he didn’t cite his source for this statistic, instead simply saying he had ‘been told [this] by the experts.’

White said he ran it by renowned health buff, human biologist and biohacker Gary Brecka – the bloke who helped him overhaul his lifestyle and transform his body back in 2022 – before he committed to the 86-hour fast.

Brecka ultimately gave it the green light, but he recommended that White only fast for 86-hours, rather than seven straight days like some people do.

Despite many people presuming he’d be battling an almighty hunger and probably spent the entire time in a foul mood, the UFC legend said he ‘felt incredible’ while fasting.

“I worked all day everyday, like I do, and worked out everyday like I do,” White said. “My last day…I could have gone longer. I could have done seven days, I felt so good.”

He admitted that he did ‘think about food’, but said he wasn’t necessarily ‘hungry’ – as he instead put this down to boredom and being in the routine of eating meals.

“When you think about our life, everywhere we look and everything we do – turn on the TV and try to watch a football game, it’s pizza, fast food restaurants and all this sh*t just beating you over the head subliminally,” he said.

Explaining he enjoys ‘testing his will’, White said that he intended to complete the 86-hour water fast twice a year from there on out.

“Everybody’s doing it, everybody here at UFC is doing it,” White said. “It rips you to f***ing shreds, which is great – but really, the benefit is internally.

“I say this all the time, it’s like with blood work with Gary – when everything is right inside, everything looks good on the outside too.”

Fasting can bring ‘potential benefits for some people’, according to the US’ National Institutes of Health, with some studies on animals showing that it can ‘protect against diabetes, heart disease, and cognitive decline.’

But it’s not for everyone – so make sure you double check with your doctor before you take a leaf out of Dana White’s book.
