In the mid-1970s film Jaws, Lee Fierro played Mrs. Kintner, the grieving mother of a boy named Alex, played by Jeffrey Voorhees. Many years later, Voorhees was living on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, where he ran a bar and restaurant called The Wharf Pub. On the menu, he offered an “Alex Kintner” sandwich or burger, named after his character. One day, decades after the movie was made, Lee Fierro came into the restaurant with a friend. She noticed the Alex Kintner item, and Voorhees immediately recognised her as his on-screen mother. He went over, joking about “a previous life,” and she quickly realised who he was. It was their first reunion since filming Jaws. A real-life twist straight out of movie magic.
