Don’t you just hate it when you’re playing a game and someone ruins the ending. Well, that’s exactly what fans on Reddit are trying to do right now for Grand Theft Auto 6.

With the recent news of GTA 6 being delayed, fans are taking to the newly released second trailer to look for any morsels of clues they can about what to expect, any returning characters, and most recently, how the game will end.

With a little over a year until the announced release date, fans have little else to do in the meantime other than look for any clues about the game.

While fans have noticed plenty from the trailer, their attention now seems to point towards the game’s release date. The same date that Bonnie Parker, of Bonnie and Clyde fame, was buried in 1934.

Recently fans drew a comparison between the game’s main protagonists, Jason and Lucia, and Bonnie and Clyde.

Many speculated that Rockstar had modelled them as a modern version of the criminal duo. Of course, the game then getting an official release date on the same day as Bonnie was buried may be a confirmation that this is the case.

If you’ve ever read up on Bonnie and Clyde, well, you know that if Rockstar are planning on creating a modern Vice City adaptation of the couple, it’s probably not going to end well for them, as they were shot to death by officers in an ambush in Louisiana.

Fans are worried Jason and Lucia will meet a similar fate, with one writing: “Their relationship looks cute asf. Rockstar gonna make us cry in the end. I just know it.”

Another added: “Yeah one of those mofos is ending up dead.”

A third speculated: “I mean considering how Bonnie and Clyde ended it might be both of them.”

If that wasn’t enough to drive gamers on Reddit into a GTA 6 feeding frenzy, the official synopsis of the game’s plot has their minds racing straight towards the game’s finish line.

It reads: “Set in Vice City, Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them.

“But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida – forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

In fairness to those predicting the our protagonists will meet the same grisly end, the synopsis looks like someone at Rockstar went to ChatGPT and typed ‘make a synopsis for Bonnie and Clyde, but change their names to Jason and Lucia’.

While it couldn’t be any more obvious that Jason and Lucia are clearly based on Bonnie and Clyde, only time will tell if they too will meet their end in a hail of bullets, just like the real-life couple they’re based on.
