Elon, fresh off quitting his government role (yes, he really did), has been throwing some serious shade at Trump’s so-called ‘Big Beautiful Bill,’ cleverly rebranded as the ‘Big Ugly Spending Bill.’ Things took a wild turn when Elon dropped a bombshell claim on X, suggesting Trump’s name pops up in the infamous Epstein files—a spicy tidbit that’s already causing waves. Meanwhile, Trump’s hitting back on Truth Social with his own sizzling responses, including yanking Elon’s EV mandate and threatening to cut government subsidies. Elon Musk has made a bombshell claim in the midst of his social media feud with President Donald Trump.

The pair’s once tight-knit relationship seems to be crumbling, with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO recently voicing his distaste for Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill’ on social media – which he nicknamed the ‘Big Ugly Spending Bill’. This was followed by the President saying in the Oval Office today (5 June) that he was ‘disappointed’ in his former ‘first buddy’.

Musk also announced his exit from his role in the US government a week ago and now, he has posted a tirade of posts on X about the President, including one outrageous claim.

Just hours after Trump voiced his disappointment to press tonight, Musk dropped this bombshell on Twitter: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.

“Have a nice day, DJT!”

And just 10 minutes later, he added on his social media platform: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

These unsealed documents were part of a lawsuit filed against Jeffrey Epstein’s ex-partner Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015 by one of the sex offender’s victims, the late Virginia Giuffre. They consist of documents, videos, and investigative materials related to Epstein’s heinous abuse crimes before his death in 2019.

Trump being named in these documents does not imply wrongdoing, and there were no allegations made against the President.

While Trump hasn’t commented on this part of Musk’s X rant, he has taken to his platform, Truth Social, to claim: “Elon was ‘wearing thin,’ I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!”

The President later wrote: “The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!”

Musk has since shared this post, saying: “Such an obvious lie. So sad.”

As one user suggested: “Trump should be impeached and JD Vance should replace him,” Musk simply reposted with: “Yes.”

Later on, the SpaceX CEO added: “In light of the President’s statement about cancellation of my government contracts, @SpaceX will begin decommissioning its Dragon spacecraft immediately.”

Resharing decade-old posts from Trump that Musk had showed agreement with, he asked this evening: “Where is the man who wrote these words? Was he replaced by a body double?”

Musk has also pinned a poll to his profile, asking: “Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80 percent in the middle?”

After Trump started speaking about Musk, shares of Tesla fell by nine percent, their latest notable move since the election.

Shares had doubled in the weeks after Trump was elected, gave back those gains and more during Musk’s time at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and then rallied after he vowed in April to focus much more on Tesla and his other companies.

Musk later offered up an especially stinging insult to a president sensitive about his standing among voters: “Without me, Trump would have lost the election.”

“Such ingratitude,” Musk said in a follow-up post.
