Farmers’ Shocking Tactics Against Squatters Spark Fierce Debate—What Really Happened on the Farm?

You ever wonder how far someone would go to get unwanted visitors off their property? Well, these French farmers didn’t just wave a polite “please” or call the cops—they went full-on “woah, hold your noses” mode. Imagine tractors rolling up on a field packed with caravans, then dumping a brown, sludgy sludge all over the place. Yep, that’s liquid manure, better known as slurry—a stinky cocktail of cow waste and water, basically Mother Nature’s ultimate stink bomb. While some folks cheered the farmers as ingenious defenders of their turf, others are scratching their heads, pondering why the authorities aren’t stepping in with a better plan. Is this a clever, if nasty, DIY eviction method or a sign that bigger problems are lurking behind the smell? Either way, it’s safe to say you won’t find this approach in any UK guide on polite property disputes! LEARN MORE.

Farmers have divided opinion with the action they took to get rid of people staying on their land.

Viral videos show a farm in France where hordes of caravans had parked up as it’s alleged they were there illegally.

In that situation, us Brits might consider apologising ourselves while asking them if they wouldn’t mind moving (why are we always saying sorry in the UK?).

Or maybe you’d get the police in and get them to move them along.

But not these French farmers, oh no, they took matters into their own hands. And if those clips are showing what we think they are, let’s just say they were pretty stinky about it.

Said to have taken place earlier this summer, the clip shows a number of tractors driving onto the field, approaching the collection of caravans.

Then, next minute, they begin letting loose a brown, sludgy looking substance all over the place as people begin running after them.

One even climbs up onto a tractor, shouting and banging on to the window as the farmers seem to be taking no prisoners.

Another ends up taking a tumble while the others can’t catch up with the vehicles as truckloads of the liquid are emptied out onto the grass.

Yeah, it seems like it is what you’re probably thinking – local reports suggest the farmers were spaying liquid manure (slurry) from the tanks.

I mean, it’s one way to put people off staying there.

Absolutely reeking, slurry is the fertiliser made from a mix of cow sh*t and water that farmers spread to help their crops to grow. Or in this case, to make things so gross no one will want to stay there.

It’s apparently a bit of a common method for farmers in France who want to evict people staying on their land.

And some users on X said it was ‘so satisfying’ to see as they ‘love’ the farmers for it.

“Fantastic,” others said as one put: “Holy excrement!”

Another echoed: “This is epic!! Farmers always come up with the most creative solutions for their problems.”

“Never mess with a farmer,” a third wrote as a fourth joked: “All I see is some hardworking farmers attempting fertilise their land, and these people seem to be in the way. I hope they don’t get poo all over themselves and their vehicles, because that would be a shame.”

However, some think the wider problem is with authorities in France and the need for a better solution as well as better treatment for people.
