The Deputy Director of the FBI has chillingly said he will ‘never be the same’ due to what he uncovered since taking on the job.

Former Secret Service agent and NYPD officer Dan Bongino was only appointed to the role in February, but in just five months, he says he has been ‘shocked down to his core’.

In a cryptic social media post shared last night (26 July), he vowed to give Americans ‘the answers we all deserve’ and share ‘the truth’ with the public.

Although Bongino didn’t directly explain what he was referring to, people presume he was taking a thinly-veiled jab at the Trump administration amid the ongoing scandal surrounding the alleged existence of Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘client list’.

It was reported that the FBI chief had a fiery clash with US Attorney General Pam Bondi earlier this month, in wake of CCTV of the disgraced financier’s final hours in prison being released.

The US Justice Department said that no ‘further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted’, while the FBI said there was no evidence that Epstein kept a ‘client list’.

However, sources then reportedly told NewsNation that both Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel would unseal all of the evidence related to Epstein, if the decision was in their hands.

Bongino previously said he had ‘seen the whole file’ and that all of the information made him certain that Epstein had killed himself while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges, despite conspiracy theories suggesting otherwise.

After Bondi made a huge blunder and insisted there was no list of Epstein’s alleged clients months after saying it was ‘sat on her desk’, it was claimed that Bongino threatened to resign over her handling of the case, AP News reports.

Amid the reports of infighting among Trump’s administration, Bongino has now taken to X to share a puzzling post about how he has been impacted by things he has uncovered so far.

“During my tenure here as the Deputy Director of the FBI, I have repeatedly relayed to you that things are happening that might not be immediately visible, but they are happening,” he wrote.

“The Director and I are committed to stamping out public corruption and the political weaponisation of both law enforcement and intelligence operations. It is a priority for us.

“But what I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core.

“We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned.”

He went on to say that he would carry out ‘righteous and proper investigations’, while promising to do it ‘by the book’ and ‘in accordance with the law’.

Bongino added: “We are going to get the answers WE ALL DESERVE. As with any investigation, I cannot predict where it will land, but I can promise you an honest and dignified effort at truth.

“Not ‘my truth’ or ‘your truth’, but THE TRUTH. God bless America, and all those who defend Her.”

Now, it’s a waiting game to see what the probes launched by the FBI chief uncover – while people in the US are also hoping he offers some further context about his ambiguous social media post.

It’s been a busy week on the Epstein front, with President Trump being accused of sending the businessman a ‘bawdy’ letter for his birthday and hosting a ‘calendar girl’ party with him.

Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell also got a grilling off the Department of Justice about ‘100 different people’ who are reportedly connected to the case.
