A woman who survived the devastating plane crash that claimed the lives of 12 people has shared the chilling final message she sent to her boyfriend, just moments before the collision.

Liliana Estrada is one of just five people who survived after the plane she was traveling on crashed off the Caribbean coast of Honduras on March 18.

The 25-year-old had a bad feeling about the flight after it set off over 25 minutes late, and she was quick to send a message to her boyfriend, fearing that it could be the last one she ever sent him.

Plane crashes have been all too common in recent months and sadly, this was yet another case of people losing their lives as the Jetstream 32 aircraft, which was operated by Honduran airline Lanhsa, crashed into the sea within a minute of taking off from the island of Roatán.

When deadly plane crashes occur, there are often cases of loved ones receiving final messages, potentially after the crash has already claimed the sender’s life.

When the plane skidded along the tarmac, Liliana immediately thought to text her boyfriend and two minutes later, the plane was in the ocean.

Taking to social media, she said: “The plane started to skid. I texted him maybe a minute and a half after it happened.

“Before we took off, when the plane was skidding, I texted [my boyfriend] that I loved him and that something was happening, and that was the last thing I was able to talk to him about.

“Honestly, I don’t remember the moment I crashed because I suppose that’s when I hit myself. I don’t know if it was the head injury first or the blow to my face.

“And now, watching the news, I realise that the plane already had problems before.”

The young woman, who was hospitalised after the crash, also voiced her grievances with the airline.

She wrote: “I also want to make it clear that the plane was already having problems before it even took off. The plane was leaving at 5:40 pm, and they told us they were going to be 25 minutes late, which wasn’t the case; it was more than 25 minutes late.

“They simply told us it was a delay and put us on the plane, knowing full well the odds that we wouldn’t make it.”

The Honduran Civil Aeronautics Agency have confirmed an investigation is underway. While the weather has been found to not be at blame, no further updates have sice been provided.
