Maitland Ward shocked fans when she revealed her plans to move into the adult film industry, having been a former Disney actor.

You might not have heard of Boy Meets World, although if you’re well into your 30s you probably have, but it was a much loved sitcom that aired on Disney channel from 1993 until 2000.

Ward rose to fame thanks her role as Rachel McGuire in the hit show.

She opted to retire from acting and shortly after decided to work in the porn. Since then, Ward’s been a strong advocate of the adult film industry – having shared in 2022 that she makes a lot more than when she was an actor.

“Don’t get me wrong. I was paid well in Hollywood, but nothing near what I am making now,” she revealed at the time.

Now, speaking with Fox News Digital, the 48-year-old claimed that people treated her with a lot more respect than she received during her days in Hollywood.

“I really think people treat me with more respect now, honestly, especially even in Hollywood right now, I’m pitching my memoir into a TV format and talking with people,” Ward said.

“They’re so respectful, and they’re so positive about my story, especially younger people and different people that I speak to in Hollywood and stuff. They’re just much more receptive to the story. And I really feel like I have a lot of positivity around it. I’m able to create my own brand, my own content, the way I want to create it.”

“I didn’t get anybody coming out hating me for it or anything,” she explained about her decision to move into the adult film industry.

Revealing the reaction of the public, she added: “I really got a lot of positivity overall, which shocked everyone I knew.

“Everybody thought people were just going to rip me apart, and I was going to be judged and raked across the coals, but I got so much positivity and I think it’s because I was so positive about it, and I was so happy about it.”

While speaking with indy100 back in 2022, she detailed exactly what a 16-hour day in porn looks like.

“I think that they have this misconception that porn is just silly and nobody puts any work into it,” she explained.

And let’s just say this is not your regular 9 to 5, with Ward adding: “We work about 16-hour days. I’d say about an hour and a half of that is sex.

“The rest is filming, the rest is shot, the rest is dialogue.”
