Georgia Toffolo and James Watt’s Wedding Guests Left Stunned by Mysterious Invitation Rule
Is there some unwritten rule somewhere that says every wedding must revolve around the bride’s vision board and a carefully curated Pinterest aesthetic? I mean, seriously—how many times have you watched the groom become a glorified guest at his own wedding, nodding politely for fear of questioning the color of the napkins? Well, imagine my intrigue when news broke that Georgia Toffolo—yes, the Made in Chelsea star turned influencer—and BrewDog’s ever-controversial co-founder James Watt opted for a wedding that seemed to bulldoze every influencer cliché in the book. Instead of a soulless luxury bash, they went rogue: a last-minute ceremony in rural Aberdeenshire, with a 24-hour guest notice and—brace yourself—a literal spaniel as the ring bearer. If you’ve ever wondered what happens when an empire-building entrepreneur with a dubious public image and a TV darling with a supposed “zero” joint account balance try to host an anti-glam wedding, buckle up. Why did Toff and Watt turn tradition on its head, and what does it say about love, money, and reputation in the Instagram era? Trust me, this story is as icy and unpredictable as the Scottish wind . Usually when it comes to weddings, it’s usually the bride who gets whatever they want.
So it was something of a surprise when actress and influencer Georgia Toffolo and BrewDog co-founder James Watt tied the knot in strange circumstances last month, perhaps vying away from the typical weddings you might expect from mega-rich influencers and business owners.
The Made in Chelsea star got engaged to Watt in October last year and they were married in sunny Scotland in March, with Aberdeenshire no doubt providing the exact weather you’d hope for on the happiest day of your life.
Watt, who stepped down as BrewDog CEO last year, has earned himself something of a bad rep over the years, perhaps due to the company refusing to pay some of its London employees within the living wage for the city.
Despite his business success, Toffolo recently took to Instagram to quash the idea of her being a gold-digger, suggesting that they had £0 in their joint bank account, which is frankly very hard to believe.
Perhaps in a bid to restore his image as just your average joe, with an estimated net worth of over £200 million, the 42-year-old went back to his roots with a wedding ceremony in the same church that his grandparents had married in.

The only problem? Guests were given 24 hours to get there. While this might be easy enough for the content creators and millionaires of this world, the vast majority of us would struggle to get the day off at that notice, let alone get up to Scotland in that time given the state of trains in this country.
Even then, what am I going to wear, what gift should I bring, what’s on the menu? These are all questions people like to know the answer to a long time before setting off to a wedding, so you can forgive a few great aunts and university friends for maybe giving the ice-cold wedding conditions a miss.
James revealed the details on his Instagram, writing: “Georgia and I got married today.

“Some key details: 1st March 2025 57.6722° N, 2.3372° W (Gardenstown, Northeast Scotland) 6°C, 17-knot winds (because Scottish weather never disappoints) Spaniel ring bearer.
“Guests – whoever could get there with 24 hours notice, Scottish honeymoon incoming. Married in the same church my grandparents were married in.”
It’s perhaps not the most bizarre wedding situation you can think of however, with one bride determined to sword fight a groomsmen in order to win her husband’s hand.
