Hilaria Baldwin’s Secret ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Move: Why She’s Sending a Nanny to Compete

Have you ever looked at a celebrity and wondered, “How many household staff does it actually take to cha-cha your way through prime-time TV?” Well, buckle up—I can barely get my kids to do their homework, let alone waltz for me on national television, and here comes Hilaria Baldwin hiring nannies to samba her troubles away. The image alone—our beleaguered nanny in blue jeans getting spun around the dancefloor while Hilaria checks her phone—is wild enough to make you question your reality. Is privilege the new required choreography on Dancing With The Stars, or have we finally hit a point where even our reality stars outsource reality itself? I can’t decide if I’m scandalized, amused, or just quietly dazzled by the business model. So do nannies make better dance partners than spouses? Don’t ask me—I can’t even find someone to dust the baseboards. LEARN MORE.

LOS ANGELES—In a move that has drawn criticism from fans of the competition series, Hilaria Baldwin reportedly hired a nanny to waltz for her on Dancing With The Stars this week. “Yes, I use a nanny—I need help with my dancing, and there’s no shame in admitting that,” said Baldwin, who defended herself after photos from a rehearsal surfaced that showed her standing to the side and looking at her phone while Dancing With The Stars partner Gleb Savchenko twirled an exhausted-looking woman in blue jeans across the stage. “To be perfectly transparent, I’m using two nannies, one for rehearsals and one for the performances. Could the average Dancing With The Stars contestant afford this? Of course not. But I don’t take any of my nannies’ cha-chaing and tangoing for granted, and that’s what really matters.” At press time, sources confirmed Baldwin had fired the nanny after landing in the bottom three again.
