Death of a Unicorn star Jenna Ortega has a little-known history with Marvel Studios.
Prior to her breakout performances in the Scream franchise and Netflix’s Wednesday (which soon returns for season two), Ortega brushed shoulders with some of the biggest stars of the superhero franchise.
The actor’s minor Marvel character appears approximately 90 minutes into the 2013 blockbuster, which was directed by Shane Black.
While chatting to Entertainment Tonight recently, the 22-year-old discussed why she’s unlikely to rejoin the MCU as the same unnamed character.

“I’m hoping that we can create this world where we can get Jenna Ortega into the Marvel universe,” said the interviewer.
The star replied: “I did it once, it was one of the first jobs I ever did.
“They took all my lines out. I’m in Iron Man 3 for a quick second. I take up the frame. I have one leg, and I’m the vice president’s daughter.”
Yes, Ortega starred alongside Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Don Cheadle, and Rebecca Hall in Iron Man 3.
Also sitting down with the publication was her Death of a Unicorn colleague Paul Rudd, who took it upon himself to big up Ortega for a grand return to the world of superheroism.
“Marvel is very good at kind of laying those breadcrumbs, so it might very well be that you come back,” he said. “They’re gonna create something for you! ‘Cause they should be so lucky to have Jenna Ortega in their franchise.”
She seemed pretty unconvinced, though, pointing out: “They even took my name away. I count that [as my MCU appearance] and then I move on.”
Over on social media, Ortega’s Marvel moment turned into some kind of revelation for many of her fans.
“Damnnn, that’s rough imagine getting a role in a huge franchise just to have your lines and even your name cut out. idk the whole story, but Jenna Ortega has already proven she can carry major roles. anddd she’s doin just fine carving her own path too,” read one reaction on X.

A second person highlighted the fact that Michelle Yeoh ‘had a small cameo role in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and the came back as a different character in Shang Chi [and the Legend of the Ten Rings]’.
