JoJo Siwa Drops Unexpected Revelation About Her Sexuality After Candid CBB Confession

What’s the shelf life of a label, really? Watching JoJo Siwa navigate the neon-lit circus of Celebrity Big Brother, I couldn’t help but imagine her standing in the middle of that infamous house—camera on, emotions raw—she fires off a comment about her sexuality and boom, social media does what social media does best: sets itself on fire. At just 21, JoJo’s love life and ever-evolving sense of self have been scrutinized more than most of us would tolerate in a lifetime, with everyone weighing in the second she dares to drop the “L” and embrace the “Q.” It’s fascinating (and a little bonkers) to think about how quickly a star’s private journey morphs into public property, dissected, debated, meme-ified. So here’s my not-so-rhetorical question: If you had to declare your identity once and for all, live on reality TV, would the world ever let you change your mind? Turns out, JoJo just might have started the most human conversation of all—not about boxes, but about breaking out of them .LEARN MORE.

JoJo Siwa has clarified comments she made during her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house amid her shock split from partner Kath Ebbs.

At only 21 years old, the American star’s sexuality and relationships were put under a hell of a lot of scrutiny while she appeared on the ITV show. And now Siwa says she’s ‘flabbergasted’ by the debates she unconsciously fired up while living under Big Brother’s rule.

From her ‘platonic’ friendship with Chris Hughes to being on the receiving end of disgusting homophobic comments from Mickey Rourke, the ‘Karma’ singer has caused quite a stir.

One big talking point came when she said she had ‘realised I am not a lesbian’ and instead wished to identify as ‘queer’. “And I think that’s really cool, I’m switching letters! I’ve dropped the L and I’ve gone to the Q baby! That’s what I love about sexuality,” she said in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

This conversation around the fluidity of sexuality came about while Siwa was chatting to Danny Beard but she admits she thought it ‘would never see the light of day’.

“But I don’t mind that it did, because I actually think it starts a very beautiful conversation,” the performer told Us Magazine. “I think queer joy is so special and so magical.”

The Dance Moms star went on to point out that ‘sexuality is a spectrum’ as she slammed those who say her’s ‘has been fake’ as ‘actually crazy and a discredit to my life that I’ve had since I fell in love with my first girl’.

Siwa explained she had a number of chats with the Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK winner as she decided she didn’t ‘want to be in a box anymore’.

She said initially, it was about ‘gender identity’ and all she has on that right now is ‘initial thoughts’.

“Queer is a beautiful umbrella term for the LGBTQIA community,” Siwa said. “I think that for me to be a woman and say I have a non-binary partner, but then also say I’m a lesbian is crazy.

“I just realised within myself that the way my eyes are to the world, I think I’m just queer.”

Rightly so, the star said ‘it’s nothing to be ashamed of’ but is pretty baffled that the ‘world is going crazy with that one’.

She also added that it’s ‘so funny’ that people took her as being queer as a way of opening up an attraction to Hughes.

“People scratch at the surface for absolutely anything they can and it’s not worth it for me to get upset over something like that,” Siwa said.

“But it frustrates me, with people lying or looking for things. It’s the furthest thing. I see what people are reaching for but guys, come on your arms are not that long!”
