Here is the meaning and origin behind the familiar phrase Big D**k Energy — including how it relates to Pete Davidson.

It’s fair to say that Davidson’s skills with the ladies are pretty iconic, the guy has a laundry list of famous ex-girlfriends who all posses the golden trio of being wealthy, beautiful and well-connected.

We’re talking about celebrities such as Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, Emily Ratajkowski and Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor, who all fall into the category of women who wouldn’t struggle to land a date with anyone of their choosing.

So how the hell does he do it? Well it could be down to something known as Big D**k Energy (BDE).

What is Big D**k Energy?

Contrary to the initial mental image which such a phase may conjure, BDE isn’t actually about the size of your meat and two veg.

In fact, you don’t even need to have a schlong to radiate BDE, evidenced by the fact that the internet previously concluded that Rihanna has BDE.

This is because it’s more about who you are as a person instead of what’s going on between your legs.

BDE is a way to describe someone who exudes confidence and charisma without having to try to hard. “It’s a low-key assurance in yourself that no way exudes arrogance nor cockiness,” wrote Grazia, while Vice added: “The d**k itself is completely meaningless to big d**k energy.”

Where did the phrase ‘Big D**k Energy’ come from?

The exact origins of the meme are pretty murky, however, internet historians widely agree that BDE cropped up in online circles around sometime in 2018.

According to The Guardian, the earliest noted use of the phrase was on X by user named Kyrell Grant, who tweeted the following tribute to the late Anthony Bourdain: “We’re talking about how Anthony Bourdain had big d**k energy which is what he would have wanted.”

The phrase would later go viral after being attached to a tweet Ariana Grande made about then-boyfriend Davidson (more on that later). BDE has since been referenced in multiple songs, thereby cementing it into pop culture history for good.

Even Kardashian herself used it when referring to her relationship to the comedian, saying: “I wasn’t even thinking, ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna be in a relationship with him’.

“I was just thinking like, ‘Heard about this BDE, need to get out there’.”

So how does this all link to Pete Davidson?

As we mentioned before, the phrase would swiftly become attached to Davidson and Grande after the singer made a (now deleted) tweet ‘revealing’ the size of the SNL star’s manhood.

“Like 10 inches? …. Oh f**k …. I mean … like a lil over a minute,” she replied to a fan who’d been enquiring about the length of an interlude dedicated to Davidson.

Another user would then weigh in with the following tweet (via The Independent): “Pete Davidson is 6’3 [1.91 m] with dark circles, exudes big d**k energy, looks evil but apparently is an angel, and loves his girl publicly.”

The phrase was promptly picked up by others and the rest, as they say, is history.
