The finale of the newest season of The Traitors US has been deemed ‘reality TV gold’ after it had a jaw-dropping ending.
The US spin-off of the hit BBC series has not quite hit the heights of the UK TV show in its first three seasons, but the fourth season has gone viral on multiple occasions.
Running for much of the same time as The Traitors UK there were multiple controversies, including Michael Rappaport being booted off the show in disgrace and Colton Underwood’s past stalking allegations being brought to light.
The US version of the show is a celebrity series, with the final three faithful being Irish reality star Maura Higgins, figure skater Johnny Weir, sports commentator Tara Lipinski, as well as two remaining Traitors: K-Pop star Eric Nam and Love Island US alumnus Rob Rausch.

After a set of banishments though it came down to just Maura and Rob, with the pair having formed a close friendship.
At the very last though Rob revealed he’d played her, taking the full $220,800 prize fund for himself, saying: “I am and I always have been a Traitor. I am so sorry, I am a Traitor. I’m serious.”
Maura’s reaction has gone viral on social media, with her hitting out at Rob saying: “Oh my God, I’m so stupid. I was so fooled by you.
“You absolute ar**hole. You pinky promised. You’re a piece of work. I was so convinced. You’ve embarrassed me.

“You’re never gonna have a girlfriend after this — you’re such a good liar.”
Laughing through tears in a confessional interview, she admitted that she ‘actually thought she was winning’.
One fan on social media posted the clip saying: “Hang it in the reality TV Louvre.”
Another fan responded adding: “This was the best finale ever thank you Maura.”
Others however were enraptured with Rob’s direct statement about his betrayal of Maura, saying in the episode: “Would you give 100k to someone you met three weeks ago?”
A popular comment on Reddit said this ‘really put it back into context’ adding: “Like, no you’re right. I wouldn’t either.”
Maura appears to have got over the betrayal though, posting on Instagram to congratulate the show’s winner.
Alan Cummings proceeded to call Rob ‘one of the best Traitors we’ve had thus far’.
Speaking about his win in the reunion episode, he revealed his slightly boring financial plans for the more than $200k prize money, saying he was going to ‘probably save it for the future’.
He went on to clarify though that he was going to get Maura a Birkin bag to say sorry, with his co-star Lisa Rinna telling him it should cost ‘at least’ $10,000.
