Mia Goth has addressed the allegations that she ‘intentionally’ kicked an extra in the head while filming MaXXXine.
The actor, who is currently starring Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Frankenstein alongside Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac, has been accused of kicking extra James Hunter in the head while he was pretending to play dead in the slasher film.
What has Mia Goth been accused of?
In a $500,000 battery lawsuit filed in a Los Angeles court back in 2024, Hunter said he was playing a deceased, blood-covered character who Goth was required to step over in a scene.
He claimed that Goth had been warned about stepping on him while shooting, prompting her to ‘intentionally’ kick Hunter in the head with her boot during the following take.
“The kick in the head caused plaintiff to immediately experience headache and stiffness in his neck,” Hunter’s claim continued.

Hunter went on to claim that he was diagnosed with concussion the following day, reporting symptoms ‘head trauma, disorientation, vertigo and migraines’ as well as ‘nightmares, and severe emotional distress’.
He also filed an action against A24 Films LLC, alleging that he was wrongfully terminated from the film.
In an update on the case, Hunter claimed that Goth barged into the port-a-potty toilet he was using and told him: “Nobody will believe you because you’re nothing. Get the f**k off my set, you big baby.” (per Variety).
What has Mia Goth said about the allegations?
Goth, director Ti West and A24 all denied the allegations against them.
The Nymphomaniac actor recently addressed the lawsuit while promoting Frankenstein during an interview with Elle, saying people could ‘draw their own conclusions’ about the case.
“I’m unable to speak to any of that at the moment, but I think if anyone was to do a simple search, they would see what the facts are,” Goth said.
“They can draw their own conclusions. It’s still an ongoing process.”

A24 has also released their own statement on the case, saying Hunter’s claims were ‘simply not true’.
“As this is in active litigation, we cannot say more at this time but continue to vigorously defend Mia and the entire filmmaking team against these extremely baseless allegations,” the statement added (via Variety).
The 32-year-old previously stated she was ‘very grateful for A24’s support’ in a 2024 interview.
Who is James Hunter?
According to his IMDb page, Hunter is a background actor who also has credits in films and TV shows such as Robin Hood: Prince of Sherwood and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Hunter has also faced his own legal troubles, with Rolling Stone revealing the 47-year-old actor was handed a sentence in Los Angeles County jail back in 2015 for running a rent scam.
He was also accused of being a ‘vexatious litigant’ against an ex-girlfriend and her stepfather.
