Easily this year’s most controversial contestant of the series so far, Mickey Rourke has now left Celebrity Big Brother.
It was confirmed last night (12 April) that the actor had agreed to exit following ‘further use of inappropriate language and unacceptable behaviour.’
As he continued to leave viewers disgraced, it’s clear ITV are absolutely not tolerating Rourke’s recent antics after a number of instances of him sparking outrage.
The 72-year-old was slammed as ‘creepy’ before even going into the house and then went on to make offensive comments towards his fellow Celebrity Big Brother housemates. He landed a formal warning from Big Brother just days into the series and now he has agreed to leave after less than a full week in the house.
‘Creepy’ AJ Odudu exchange
Rourke immediately sparked controversy due to his behaviour towards the host upon his entry last weekend.
Creating what was an uncomfortable watch on the live show, the actor grabbed and pulled Odudu towards him and told her she had a ‘nice outfit’, before looking her up and down.
This sparked the presenter to tell him ‘stop looking at me’ before ushering him towards the door, with Rourke telling her: “I want to stay with you.”
Viewers slammed it as ‘unpleasant and unprofessional’, and Odudu went on to brush off his cringey behaviour on the spin-off show as he said: “I was like ‘You can’t afford these feathers Mickey, no!’”
Donna Preston’s LED face mask
Rourke was accused by viewers of fat-shaming comedian Donna Preston, while she was wearing an LED face mask.
The Sin City actor asked if she’d seen any results, while she admitted she’d only been using it for a few months.
“You’d probably be better off running round the block for ten minutes,” he told her as she responded: “I’ve got to try something. I’m getting a little turkey neck.”
Rourke then added: “It comes with the territory,” and he then explained to a somewhat confused Preston: “It’s like they say, you are what you eat.”
The comedian appeared to try and brush it off with laughter but admitted to being shocked over his comments, as Danny Beard joked Rourke must have thought she was ‘gonna lose half a f**king stone just by putting an LED mask on.’
Homophobic comments towards JoJo Siwa
Perhaps most notably, Rourke’s use of homophobic language in Wednesday’s episode saw him land a ‘strict warning’ from Big Brother.
The actor asked the Dance Moms star if she liked ‘boys or girls’, to which she said she likes girls and that her current partner is non-binary.
Rourke then said to Siwa, who is 51 years his junior, that ‘if [he stays] longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore’. She responded to his disgusting remark that she can ‘guarantee’ it wouldn’t happen.
It didn’t end there as he went on to say that to Siwa ‘I’ll tie you up’ and told fellow housemate Chris Hughes that he was ‘going to vote the lesbian out real quick.’
“That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning,” called out Siwa after hearing his comment.
And then to really top off the unacceptable language, the actor then goes to smoke and says he’s going for a ‘f*g’, before pointing to Siwa and saying: “I’m not talking to you.”
This left the 21-year-old star in tears as he received a strict warning from bosses in the Diary Room. He was rightly told his ‘language was offensive and unacceptable.’
Rourke eventually apologised to both Big Brother and Siwa for the language.

Patsy Palmer’s Cooking Skills
While it wasn’t quite as serious as his comments towards Siwa, Rourke also left Patsy Palmer in tears with comments about her cooking.
It became clear very quickly that the actor wasn’t quite aware of how Big Brother worked, not realising they would be filmed 24/7 or that they’d have to fend for themselves.
And he soon began to complain that the food hadn’t been very good. Chatting to Siwa in the bedrooms, he said: “Big Brother has got to work on the food a little,” before adding it was ‘not that great.’
She then pointed out that Palmer was the one who’d been doing the cooking as the EastEnders star held her tongue over his comments.
Things eventually escalated as she explained she ‘liked’ Siwa a lot with Rourke suddenly and bluntly replying: “What do you know? You can’t cook.”
Clearly taken aback, the London-born star: “I can’t cook?”
Rourke then savagely responded: “No, not even a little bit,” before saying she had made broccoli which he ‘couldn’t chew.’
Palmer was left teary-eyed in the Diary Room as she recalled the exchange to Big Brother.

Appearance-ending row with Chris Hughes
Believed to be airing in tonight’s episode, Rourke and Hughes came to a head, ultimately leading to the controversial housemate leaving the show.
With it made clear that ‘no physical altercation took place’, ITV say The Wrestler actor’s ‘behaviour and language to Chris during a disagreement in a task was considered to be threatening and aggressive.’
It’s reported that Hughes gave Rourke a side eye during a task, which he didn’t appreciate and ended up going ‘for him with loads of smack talk.’
A source claimed to The Sun: “On this occasion it was offensive, threatening and aggressive. However, it didn’t get physical and security nor producers did not need to intervene.”
A statement from a Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson announcing his early departure read: “Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.”
Rourke’s reps did not respond to LADbible Group’s requests for comments.
Celebrity Big Brother continues on ITV1 and ITVX tonight at 10pm.
