Revellers heading to Oasis’ homecoming gigs have been warned to be wary of ‘severe weather’ over this weekend.

Most members of the Manchester crowds will already be sporting bucket hats and shades in honour of the Gallagher brothers anyway, but now, they’re considered a necessity.

As thousands of fans descend on Heaton Park for the first leg of the Live ’25 Tour in the city, Oasis have issued a health and safety warning amid the current heatwave.

The mercury has soared to 29C in Manchester today (11 July), while it’s pushing 30C tomorrow – so Liam and Noel have reminded their supporters to come prepared.

It’s set to be that hot, Liam might have to ditch his trademark parka for something a bit breezier.

In a social media post ahead of their first show in Manchester, Oasis urged fans to stay safe in the scorching sunshine.

It read: “Severe weather advice Friday and Saturday – Heaton Park. Please prepare for extreme sun and heat. Wear sun screen.

“Stay hydrated at the concert and when travelling. Wear a (bucket) hat. Where possible, stay in shade.

“Look after yourself and look after each other.”

This message was echoed by promoters SJM, who explained what fans can and can’t bring into Heaton Park in terms of beverages.

“With a very hot weather forecast on both Friday and Saturday, please stay hydrated, you will be permitted to bring a sealed bottle of water up to 500ml,” SJM said in a statement, as per the Manchester Evening News.

“This must be collapsible plastic. Solid plastic, metal etc containers will not be permitted on the grounds of safety. Bottles with broken seals will be emptied. There is free water to refill your bottle on site.

“Wear sunscreen, you will be permitted to bring in a small bottle 200ml or under and protect yourself from the sun overall/wear a hat; we know the legendary bucket hat will be making an appearance, so you’ll fit right in! Look after yourself and those around you.”

Fans are expecting big things from the brothers’ shows in Manchester this weekend, which are then followed up by three more gigs next week.

Tonight will be Liam and Noel’s first gig in Manchester in almost 16 years – so to mark the special occasion, the city’s tram network replaced its announcement voiceover at Heaton Park with Liam’s voice on the concert dates.

Aldi supermarket also joined the fun, building on the buzz by changing one of its store signs in Prestwich to ‘Aldeh’, embracing the Mancunian pronunciation of its name.

The Live ’25 Tour kicked off in Cardiff last week and received rave reviews, while eagle-eyed concertgoers also spotted a heartwarming Easter egg in the background screens during the shows.
