Pink Shuts Down Haters With Bold Response After Unfiltered Photo Sparks Outrage
“I see lines. Especially when you smile… But your face wrinkles where you laugh,” she wrote.
“Every once in a while you consider altering your face, and then you watch a show where you want to see what the person is feeling… and their face doesn’t move. I cannot get behind it…”
Her reasoning was particularly personal, as she wanted her children, daughter Willow and son Jameson, whom she shares with her husband, former motocross racer Carey Hart, to grow up with a healthy perspective on aging.
Pink has repeatedly said she wants to embrace aging naturally rather than change her face to meet beauty standards
“I want my children to know what I look like when I’m angry,” she explained, emphasizing the importance of letting her face reflect her emotions naturally.
“Yes. Although I don’t feel old, and I still get to wear a leotard to work, growing older is actually my first ‘grateful’ every day. What a blessing to have life, years,” she wrote.
On another occasion, she expressed a similar sentiment in a simple but powerful statement: “I pray I look older in 10 years, cause that will mean I’m alive.”
Her views on beauty have also influenced how she talks to her daughter.
During her acceptance speech for the Video Vanguard Award at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, Pink recalled her daughter worrying that she was “ugly” because she looked different from other girls.
The Just Give Me a Reason hitmaker explained that she, too, had been criticized for her appearance and for not fitting conventional ideas of femininity.
Her advice to Willow was: “We don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell, and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so they can see more kinds of beauty.”
“She’s beautiful without makeup. While all these others use AI-generated pics. It’s refreshing,” one fan wrote
